A woman’s work is never done. She takes care of her family and friends. Even her career can take priority in her life. Somewhere near the bottom of the list is usually where you’ll find a small and often neglected space in her schedule when she can find time to pamper or improve herself. That said, a woman does have one valuable commodity at her disposal….the internet!

The first step to productively benefiting from women’s online fitness sites is to size up your particular situation. Take inventory of your current situation, both health-wise and physical condition. It is wise to speak with a physician or fitness or well-being professional before setting out on any cycles or routines. Speak candidly when you share your intentions to lose weight and emphasize in detail the regions in which you wish to trim down or shape up. Once this is done you are better prepared to construct a more viable and resultant program catering to your specific needs.

It is advisable to seek out programs from a wide range of fitness practices online. Incorporating the counsel and plans from a diverse list of sites can prevent boredom and inspire you to adapt everyday activities into unique and instrumental additions to a predetermined routine.

Reliability is also an important facet to making the wisest decision concerning online fitness. Just because a well-known personality is gnashing her teeth before the camera being quoted as saying “It worked for me”, doesn’t inspire a lot of trust. Pay attention to before and after photographs. If in one shot there’s a 300 pound woman sprawled on the couch wearing a mumu and in the next shot she’s a ninety pound waif soaking up the sun in a skimpy two piece bikini, don’t fall prey to wishful thinking! One would think talk shows and magazines would be a good resource for finding a trustworthy online fitness program, but this is not always the case. Television and magazines generally promote what is new and displays all the bells and whistles as an attention getter and then reveals the most extreme cases of success. Ask your doctor or a fitness professional for suggestions. Especially the fitness professionals, who are in the know when it comes to cutting edge and reliable routines and programs online.

Having committed to a program, formulate a plan to abide by while not online. There are a million distractions online and it would probably be prudent to either print or make notes of the routines, dieting information and scheduled rotations. It is so easy, particularly in the early stages of a fitness program to lack motivation and lose focus. Gleaning what you need ahead of time can help deter you from procrastinating and surfing the net during the time you’ve set aside to follow your daily regimen.

Pre-planning milestones is probably the most pressure free way to register results. Don’t set impossible goals for yourself. Weight isn’t packed on overnight and it certainly won’t render off overnight. It is recommended that you set bi-monthly dates to weigh-in and measure. Any sooner and your just tormenting yourself. One should also keep in mind that weight loss isn’t necessarily a good indicator that you are fit. Muscle weighs heavier than fat. It will take time for things to return to pre-weight gain condition. Actually, you may even lose inches, but remain near the same weight of your last weigh-in.

From day one your objective should be to facilitate a restorative and progressive way of life. Actively journaling your thoughts online, in emails to friends and supporters or in notes to be saved on your computer for your eyes only is a great method of charting successes and failures, feeling, goals, ideas, and measurements. It can be surprising how mental and physical changes will manifest themselves before you realize it. Recording your experiences, both good and bad is a terrific mode of documenting your overall experience.

Once you’ve reached a level of success, whether it be loss of a few pounds, tightening up some flab or had even greater success it is no time to slack off. It is absolutely reasonable to treat yourself to a day off or indulging in a treat you haven’t enjoyed in a while. Maintaining your successes is key! It is so easy to fall into old unhealthy routines. It is normal to “fall off the wagon”, so to speak, but stand up and dust yourself off and keep on striving to reach your ultimate goal. When this happens, post photos in the galleries available in some women’s fitness sites. Everyone can recognize when you’ve reached your goal and your “after” photo is not an air-brushed or photo-shopped mockery. Be proud of yourself and tell the world about your accomplishments. Spread and intensify your successes by helping others who are in similar situations as you were when you began. You’ll already look good and by reaching out, you’ll feel good too!
