The title says it all, fat loss is not about just dieting, it is about a program to achieve your goals. In order to be successful at this endeavor, you will need an entire program.

A fat loss program is what we need in order to reach our goals, without a program we will usually not get the results that we set out to get.

You need to have a program that will incorporate exercise, good food, good eating habits and of course a change of lifestyle and a change in the way you look at eating.

Good eating habits are the first thing we need to work on. You need to know what it is that we are putting into our body. You will not be able to do this if you do not prepare your own food at home. When you eat out, you do not know what the food is cooked in, how much oil is used, or the amount of calories in the dish.

By cooking for yourself you will know what is in what you are cooking. This way you always know that you are consuming a certain amount of oil or carbohydrates, and of course, how many calories.

You should always eat plenty of vegetables; there is no limit on vegetables on a healthy diet. You should also stick with good carbohydrates, by this I mean ones that are not processed or bleached. You should eat brown bread and unprocessed pasta, only whole wheat.

Eating this way will help you to eat less because you will stay full longer. You are less likely to snack in between when you eat this way.

While we are talking about meals, the number of meals you eat each day is very important. You should eat more times with less food. There are studies that prove that given the same amount of calories consumed, a person who eats 5-6 times a day will lose more weight than a person who eats two to three times.

Skipping meals is not an option; this will slow down your metabolism and thus, slow down your results. If you skip meals you will without a doubt, eat more at the next.

Incorporating exercise into your fat loss program is very important also. The exercise you get will help to speed up your metabolism and you will lose weight faster. You will be more encouraged to stay on your diet that way.

I am not referring to some marathon 2 hours a day 7 days a week program at the gym. I am asking you to maybe walk for 30 minutes a day and eat right. You will see some great results just by walking every day.

As far as lifestyle changes go, I am not talking something huge. You may want to walk to the corner store instead of driving there or when you are at the mall take the stairs and not the elevator.

You must also find things to do with your spare time besides eating. You can take up gardening, or a new hobby. These things will take your mind off of eating.

If you stick with this basic plan you will have a great foundation for your fat loss program. You can build as you see fit in the future.
