A weight loss cleanse can be more effective than following a calorie counting diet. In fact, cleansing can help you clear out built up toxins that may be stored in and around fat cells while at the same time helping you to reset your metabolism. Also, you can learn what foods make you sick and tired and which foods give you energy.

A weight loss cleanse can be easy and help keep your life simple. It’s easier than counting calories – in fact when you learn these simple steps, you no longer have to analyze labels. You will also learn that eating healthy can give you the energy along with the metabolism needed to help you keep the weight off for good.

Step 1 – Stop eating junk food. Everyone knows what they are; sodas, chips, french fries, fat foods (oops, I mean fast foods), ice cream and so on. These highly processed junk foods not only add weight, but they can stop your body from losing any weight! Junk foods are loaded with chemicals such as preservatives that can get stored in fatty tissues causing you to look fatter. On top of this, they can interfere with your thyroid function.

Step 2 – Eat as few processed foods as possible. This means foods that are packaged and/or pre-made designed to save time. Do a reality check and see if it really does save you time. For example, you can chop some lettuce and veggies to throw a salad together in about the same time it takes to open and heat a can of soup. If you really do want the packaged food, look for the equivalent at a health food store. Check the ingredients – the less your food has, the better. More ingredients means more processing. A weight loss cleanse should help your body eliminate harmful ingredients.

Step 3 – Be sure most of your food is fresh and whole. Eat mainly vegetables and fruits. After that eat natural proteins such as chicken or fish and then 1/2 serving of grains such as wild rice. Arrange your plate to have 1/2 to 3/4 of it filled with veggies. These foods do no have labels because they are natural and in their whole form. If you use cooking sauces, use only a small amount and try to use organic when possible. Drink herbal teas and plenty of fresh water.

Step 4 – Take a fiber supplement such as psyllium or crushed flax seeds twice a day. This will help absorb toxins from the intestinal tract and add more bulk to help your body eliminate waste. In addition, taking fiber about 10-15 minutes before a meal can help you feel full sooner.

Step 5 – During your weight loss cleanse, supplement your nutrition by adding whole food supplements to your daily regimen. This should include a whole food vitamin so you are sure to get all your vitamins and minerals. Using a product that is made from “whole foods” as opposed to the synthetic version will ensure your body uses most of the nutrients without causing toxic side-effects. Also take EFA’s or Essential Fatty Acids. This supplement supplies oils that your body needs to keep joints mobile, skin and hair healthy, balance your hormones, are necessary for proper brain function for healthy moods – and they help you lose weight!

Step 6 – Incorporate daily exercise utilizing the circuit training effect. Circuit training burns more fat and calories and breaks up your routine to make exercise more effective. Exercise raises metabolism, boosts your mood, stimulates circulation and can help your body clear excess waste and weight.

You can circuit train at home by alternating resistance exercise with aerobics. You don’t need weights or special equipment, either. Just put on some music and choose exercises for resistance such as squats, lunges and push ups. Choose up to six different exercises with a goal to do three sets of each. Perform a set of resistance exercise, then do one minute of aerobic exercise such as jumping rope, running in place or rebounding. Then do another set of resistance followed by another minute of aerobics. Continue this until you have completed 30-40 minutes of exercise.

Make a list of these six steps and put them where you will see them each day. Stay away from restaurants for now. Try collecting recipes to help you stay away from fast foods. There are many free ones on the net. Help yourself with a weight loss cleanse so you are ready for summer with a healthier body and mind.
