A few years ago a kind of super fruit called the acai berry jumped onto many of our television screen thanks to being featured on countless TV shows.

It is time for you to arm yourself with the truth and discover how these scams work so you are not taken advantage of like thousands of consumers are each and every day.

The acai berry has helped the natives of the amazon rain forest for literally thousands of years. They attribute much of their well being to the fact that the acai berry is so good.

A few years ago a few talk shows actually featured the acai berry and from there it took off. All of a sudden the term acai was being searched millions of times per month – according to Google.

As the product got popular and started to really gather some steam a few scammers got together and decided to create their own, fake acai berry products.

They decided that they would try and rope you in with a free trial of the product and get your credit card information. Once they got your credit card information they would re-bill you every 30 days for the product for very high amounts. (Usually around $100.)

Now that is all fine and dandy and there is most certainly nothing wrong with that. But the thing is all those terms are hidden so far down in the fine print most people do not know they will ever get billed and canceling these memberships can be real hard.

All of a sudden the consumer would be billed every 30 days for the product and chances are they did not even know they were going to be – unless they read that tiny little print.

But these scammers suck people in with big promises that deliver almost nothing in return. (Sad, right?)

What makes this whole situation even tricker is the fact that these free trial products are around half scams and half of them are great products.

So picking the winners from the losers is sometimes like picking the best apple blind folded.
