Sticking to an anti Candida diet takes focus and will power, partly because there are foods you are giving up but also because of the difficulties it can create in your social life. But taking this important step to get rid of Candida for good does not have to ruin your life so here are some pointers to help you along the way.

Go slow If you eat a lot of sugary, processed and or junk foods the idea of this diet can be pretty depressing. But you do not have to do everything all at once, after all there is no point in going cold turkey if you are just going to fall of the diet. The first week cut out sugar, the next cut back on starches and carbs, and so on until you reach the point where you have cut out everything you are meant to and start the official stage one of the diet.

The cup is half full not half empty: There are a lot of foods you cannot eat when on the diet, but there are many great foods you can still have! Look at those rather than being negative about what you cannot have.

Be fair to yourself: Everyone slips up when on a diet, but it is not a reason to completely throw in the towel. If a situation comes along where you have little choice, or if you just cave in to a chocolate bar one night that does not mean you get up the next day and revert back to bad habits. Accept the mistake or situation and then get back the focus you need to continue.

Pack a snack: Have foods ready at hand in case you need a snack that are part of the diet. In your bag, at work, in the car. When having a gossip with a friend take a snack with you to their house so they do not have to worry about you and are not offended when you refuse those chips.

Fill up and the good stuff before you go out. If you are going to a party where there are all those tempting finger foods, eat a big meal before you go so you are less likely to stuff yourself.

Be the decider when eating out. If you are going out on a dinner date call ahead to the restaurant to see what options are available. If there isn’t much you can have salads are on most menus today but be careful of the salad dressings!

Letting others know Some people do not like to tell people around them about the diet and others don’t care! If you would rather not explain an anti candida diet just say you are on a detox diet, usually people will just accept that and move on but if they question it just blame your doctor or dietitian!
