I wish I could get to the Gym more often, but I always ensure that when I do I fit in a half hour of Cardio.

The reasons I never miss out on my Cardio exercises is the way I feel afterwards. I feel energized, am in a great mood, can concentrate easier and sleep like a baby. Add to this the fact that it held me to shift a few pounds, and you can see why I\’m such a fan.

Seeing that down in print, I\’m asking myself why I don\’t make the effort to do it daily!

Right, back to the point now; I\’ve been asked many times; \”Am I better off on an elliptical trainer or on a treadmill? Are there more advantages in one than in the other? Will I feel better after being on one as opposed to wasting time on the other?

The only way to settle this debate is to look at each one separately and list its pros and cons.

Our first stop is the elliptical machine. A treadmill doesn\’t compare very favorable with this piece of equipment.

One of the main advantages is that you are putting no pressure in your leg joints. You are doing the workout equivalent of waling on thin air, but getting a great work out at the same time. This gives your overall health a real boost.

Now let\’s turn our attention to our treadmill. The difference is obvious, while the elliptical machine gives a different sort of work out; a lot of people simply want to just have a run. You can only get the advantages of running by being on a treadmill, not suspended in the air.

If you are becoming fitter and want to give yourself more of a challenge, change the level that you are running on so it is steeper. This is more resistant so you get a really tough exercise session.

A lot of people prefer the treadmill as they feel that they are getting the benefits quicker. If you go the same distance on both, your workout will be over quicker on the treadmill, so if you stay on a bit longer, you will burn off more calories.
