Many health-conscious individuals have turned to juice fasting as a way to stay healthy. These people are using the popular trend as a way to lose unwanted body fat.
Although some people swear by this method for losing weight, it’s really not the best choice to make when looking for a weight loss method. Celebrities seem to be on almost every tabloid in the supermarkets, claiming to have shed the pounds by juice fasting over the course of a week. Of course these articles are often accompanied by the hideous ‘before picture’ with an amazing ‘after photo’ posted right next to it.
Regarding the juice fast idea, there’s unproven speculation circulating around that they will even work as some type of “home remedy” for particular medical conditions. It’s sad to say that we are sometimes ready to try just about anything when all else, even prescription drugs, have yielded us little-to-no results.
Many have been through painful or sickening treatments and are willing to try anything if it offers them the hope of feeling any better. Though a small number of patients to report that they feel better on the whole, there is still no objective medical evidence that proves the diet has any real effect.
When juice fasting, people don’t really notice a feeling of deprivation where food is concerned; the juice makes the people feel full. Not only are these trend setters consuming juice, but also have an increased water intake as well. Juice fasting is also useful when trying to detox your body to rid yourself of toxins, but it is crucial that the correct types of juice are consumed in order for this to happen. If you try detoxing with sugar laden juices, your body will only wind up converting that sugar into fat and store it in your body.

Stomach acid production can increase, thereby causing heartburn, upset stomach, nausea, and even acid reflux. Heartburn, in some instances, can even get so bad that it keeps people from their normal sleep pattern.
Popular juices that are most often used in juice fasting are carrot juice, apple juice, and wheatgrass as well as cabbage and tomato juices. The amount of juice as well as the type of juice depends on individual needs.
