So remember how I was telling you the other day that I was impressed that even though I\’m known for eschewing a \”daily routine\” I hadn\’t yet forgotten to weigh myself in the morning as required during HCG therapy? Well it happened. Today I forgot to weigh myself. I\’ve got no idea why; I think I just got too comfortable.
So there\’s not gain or loss to report today when it comes to my weight. It\’s Thursday and the weekend is coming up. I have some unavoidable functions that I\’ll be attending this weekend and I\’m not sure how that will work out. It\’s kind of a wait and see type of thing, I guess.
My kids are starting to notice that I\’m not eating a lot of things I\’d normally eat. They made sugar cookies and I couldn\’t have any. They asked for queso and chips while they watched a movie and I didn\’t join in. This type of thing led them to ask me why I wasn\’t eating so they\’re aware I\’m on a diet. And they\’re right there asking me if what I\’m eating is on my diet and all that. It\’s a bit of extra annoyance. I meant motivation! Did I say annoyance? Shame on me. That was just a slip of the tongue.
This morning was a bit of a rough morning. The alarm didn\’t go off and the kids were a bit late to school. But I did eventually get back into my routine and take my B-Total and HCG therapy drops. I decided to try a new recipe or two so I picked a couple in the cookbook and then made a list for a trip to the store. I got everything I needed to make Orange Cremesicle, Turkey and Tomato Soup and Chicken Asparagus Soup. I\’m kind of digging the soups. I headed to the regular grocery store instead of Walmart because the produce seems to be better and it also seems to last longer if I buy it at the grocery store in comparison to Walmart. Who knows why…
And the Melba Toast Spicy 3 Pepper crackers are never stocked at the Walmart. I think it\’s a very definite lack. I might slip a comment to the manager or something that the item should be added to their purchasing list. I\’m not sure if that would work, but it\’s worth a try. They\’re way better than any other of variety of Melba Toast I\’ve tried and I\’ve tried: garlic, sea salt, original, sesame…and I think one or two more that I can\’t remember off the top of my head.
I eventually made the Turkey and Tomato soup. It definitely wasn\’t one of the recipes that sounded particularly good to me, but once it was finished I loved it. I seem to really love all the recipes compiled into the HCG therapy cookbook HCG Diet Direct put together. I did use fresh herbs in the soup so that may have boosted the yumminess just a tad. I skipped over my favorite Spicy 3 Pepper Melba Toasts and instead opted for original since I was going to be dipping them in my soup and then I had an apple a few hours after lunch.
For dinner I made Filet Mignon. (I did take my HCG first in case you thought I forgot). I even pulled the bacon off before I cooked it and then cooked it up for my kids. They love bacon. Smart little boogers, aren\’t they? The Filet was great. I\’ve always been a steak girl so there\’s nothing wrong there. I hadn\’t beef in a while and it was extra good after all the chicken and turkey. I\’m still thinking about where I might go in my area to try some buffalo. That was listed as a really lean protein to use on the diet. Anyway, I had steamed cabbage with dinner. Then after dinner when I went to make the Orange Cremesicle for dessert I realized that I don\’t have a blender. I broke it several months ago and forgot about it. So the grapefruit was whipped out to replace it. The kids were far less stoked for grapefruit than they were for Orange Cremesicle, but they got over it!
