If you want to lose weight, keep in mind that you’re not going to be able to do it with a fad. However, many “new and popular” diets on the market are just that - fads. Most of these diets work for just a very short period of time because they’re not realistic. They only work for a small number of people and those who lose weight often regain it very quickly, perhaps more than they lost to begin with.

Only a few weight loss diets work for most people, and these are diets that are realistic. They don’t work by restricting food in unrealistic ways. Rather, they work with reality, based upon how the appetite and how the body work. They appreciate the reasons why people eat too much, or too much of the wrong things, and work on this. They don’t severely restrict calories, because this isn’t sustainable and only causes weight gain over the long term, usually. In short, they teach people how to succeed with long-term weight loss, gradually and steadily.

The truth of the matter is that people really do love to eat. A major part of the joy of eating is the taste and the smell of the food. This creates the total experience. It just so happens that people sometimes really love to go for food that is basically “bad” for them. Many of these foods have smell and taste characteristics that are just too hard to resist for too many people.

It can be very difficult to maintain your distance from these foods so that you can stay away from them. This, in turn, means that a lot of diets simply don’t work. If you include the fact that many people have established bad eating habits and have therefore become overweight, this eventually results in failure.

They were asked to continue eating and exercising as they normally did, with no changes. At the end of the six-month period, 92 of the volunteers had finished the study, or 85.1%. These people lost an average of 33.6 pounds, with an average weight loss of 5.6 pounds per month.

The trial concluded that certain tastes and smells could induce a very real sense of satiety. That is, they helped volunteers feel full. This occurred even if the same foods were eaten and volunteers did not perform any additional exercise over what they normally did. Because they did not have the desire to overeat or to eat in a way that was out of balance with their own personal chemistries, people could naturally begin to lose weight until they got to a personal ideal weight range for them, or a healthy BMI. They did not need to undertake unnatural or forced behavior patterns in order to lose weight.

Dr. Massage has created the BMI Weight Loss Wristband. The wristband utilises special scents that suppress hunger. The wristband is worn during the day; simply sniff the wristband when you feel tempted to eat more than you know you should. The wristband also uses something called neuro-association to strengthen the anti-binging eating effects of the smells impregnated onto the wristband. Supplements are known to have some influence in treating cellulite. However, it is often advised to take supplements alongside another anti-cellulite method for them to be effective. There are algae supplements you can take, as algae is known to help reduce cellulite. Be warned though that there could be some bodily reactions to the cleansing agents of certain supplements-this is all in the matter of how you can take side effects.

Massage

Massage has been used to encourage relaxation, free tension and improve circulation and lymphatic drainage. There are certain massage techniques that could specifically minimize lymphatic problems that eliminate the build-up of fluid. However this has shown to have an inconsiderable effect on cellulite. It is being theorized that the kneading of skin alongside lymphatic drainage may smoothen out soft tissues and get rid of extra fluid, thus resulting in the reduction in the appearance of cellulite.

Heat Generating - Massaging in general has also been known to generate a bit of heat, which is known to dissolve or “melt” fat cells that cause cellulite. In the end though, massage only has a bit of influence in eliminating cellulite, and therefore should be used with other methods for more effectiveness.

An Important Message From Your Belly Fat

Dear Friend…

I was in the mood to remember the great times we have passed last year, all that big parties and all the food there, delicious food, and thousands and thousands of calories. Oh my good! I really enjoy that, i can’t wait for the next one.

Well, i’m thinking about sticking around another year if you don’t mind. But you might need to get a bigger pair of pants, as I was thinking about expanding my place down here.

Yes, we also have our issues. Like the time you were thinking of doing that interval training. That was mean! I felt like the Wicked Witch of the West in the land of Oz. Did you hear me yelling, “Help me, I’m melting!”? But its fine now, that’s in the past.

If you want to feel ok, go back to that slow cardio stuff. There was a lot of sweat, but no really fat loss. And you were happy, just as me.

Another thing, keep listening to those experts who say strength training doesn’t burn body fat. Since research shows they’re wrong, if you added strength training to your program, you’d practically need to throw me a going away party!

After each one of those superset workouts you tried last January it felt like someone lit a match under our collective butt. I was burning up down here! But boy oh boy, I sure was glad you gave that up and went back to just lifting utensils and not dumbells. Otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to celebrate another summer together this year.

Sometimes I wonder, what did you ever do in college without me, your trusted belly fat? Back then, you were probably one of those people that couldn’t wait to get to the beach to show off your body, not like these days. Nope, stay in the shade and keep the cover-up clothes on, that’s the way to go now. Besides, its a lot closer to the cold beer and the BBQ when you’re sitting in the shade avoiding all the fun down on the beach.

I ask you one more time, i beg you, stay away from that Turbulence Training workout routine please. It makes me sick every time you think about it. Remember that i want to be with you in your grave (and i can take you there soon if i want to…just kidding). Then, if you still want to see me, don’t even think about it never again. You need me more than i need you, remember that, and treat me well. You know there’s a lot of people out there wishing to be my friend.

PS. Again i tell you, please don’t go near that Turbulence Training program unless you want to see me, it will be a sad farewell, and you’d be stuck with ripped abs, gorgeous glutes, and toned arms, and you know how much attention that people get from the opposite sex. Who needs it, I say.

Should I Try A Fad Diet?

Going on a fad diet can get results. They can result in quick weight loss. Does this back up the claims from advertising in magazines and on the internet claiming that you will sustain a huge weight loss?

Is this type of weight loss really possible? Yes - but… in almost every instance the weight loss from a fad diet is temporary and usually due to loss of water weight. Our bodies are made up of a large percentage of water so as soon as your body rehydrates itself you will put that quick weight loss right back on.

Here are some reasons why fad diets may not be right for you.

1. Fad diets typically get you to avoid most foods except a single food type. This can result in missing the nutrition you need which is available from a balanced approach.

Vitamins and supplements are often recommended while on a fad diet. Unfortunately, the diet may be lacking in essential foods which help the body absorb these extra nutrients.

2. Fad diets are usually so restrictive and unappetizing that after as little as one day you will begin having overwhelming cravings for other foods and most likely you will not be able to complete the fad diet. This quitting will also wreak havoc on your self esteem as you may beat yourself up for not having enough willpower to stick it out with the diet.

3. Fad diets are temporary solutions to your weight problems. Even if you do follow through to the end with a fad diet you have not made permanent healthy changes to the way you handle food in your life. So fad dieters tend to be yo-yo dieters that go back and forth between extreme lo-calorie fad diets to periods of bingeing on food groups that were missing from the fad diet. So fad dieters are on a roller coaster of gaining and losing the same darn pounds again and again.

No matter what you see in the media about quick weight loss fad diets, realize that these diets will never work long term.

The best way to lose weight and sustain that weight loss (so you never have to diet again) is to eat a variety of healthy foods, avoid overeating, and do regular exercise. This simple formula works every time.

Why You Should Eat Fat and Avoid Fruits & Vegetables

Most books on nutrition assume everybody is the same. But it ain’t so. We’re all different. Yet we are told to avoid fat and eat fruits and vegetables as if there’s no difference between us.

Whatever the problem, fat gets the blame. Heart attacks. Cancer. Obesity. Soaring petrol prices. It doesn’t seem to matter. All would be well if only we switched to healthy vegetables, fruits and grains instead.

Fat Is Good

Well let me tell you about a medically approved diet for some children. 90% of the calories on this diet come from fat. The kids are normal weight and their cholesterol levels only a tad higher than usual. These children have epilepsy and this diet controls their seizures.

A typical breakfast might be mushroom omelette with bacon and a cup of hot chocolate made with 36 per cent cream. This may not appeal to you, but for the children and their families it’s just what they need.

I can see you’re not convinced. You think that case is special. For everyone else we can state that fruits and vegetables are beneficial and that fats should be avoided.

Not really! Some nutritionists believe our most common nutritional deficiency is …. fat.

Saturated fat is often portrayed as the great enemy. The reality is that while it may not be the best type of fat to eat, humans are adapted to eat it. The real enemy are the fats that come from food processing. These foods give us far too much of the omega 6 and trans fats and far too little omega 3 fats from fish oils.

Vegetable Can Be Bad

Professor McColl of Glasgow University warns us that eating vegetables could be the cause of the fastest growing cancer in the UK. He and his research team think nitrate fertilisers could be responsible for the trebling of throat cancer over the last 20 years.

Buying organic is not the answer. They are also loaded with nitrate.

I could refer to all the naturally occurring carcinogens, mutagens and toxins that can be found in vegetables and fruits. But I’ll spare you that.

I could also mention those people that are especially sensitive to carbs. They need to limit how much fruit and vegetables they eat because they effect their blood sugar levels. But we’ll leave that alone as well.

I might even refer to those unfortunate people that have a sensitivity to foods like oranges, grapefruit, onions and tomatoes.

And there are those that are allergic to aspirin. The chemical salicylate which is found in aspirin is also found in high amounts in fruits and vegetables.

Am I seriously telling you to avoid fruits and vegetables and eat fatty foods instead? No, certainly not. For most people this is excellent advice. The point I’m making is that you are an individual. You have your own dietary requirements and needs. There is nobody on earth like you, so don’t let anybody else tell you what to eat. Get to know your own body’s needs. Listen to what it is trying to tell you.

Don’t listen to nutrition ‘experts.’ Listen to your body.

7 Day Soup Diet for Effective Weight Loss

The 7 days soup diet is extremely efficient method for a quick weight loss program. It is a seven day ritual comprising of a variety of soup intake. Its is also a good way to remove toxin in one’s body.

On the 1st day of your 7 days soup diet you can have soup and fruits. Try and avoid fruits which have more sugar content like banana and mangoes. Cantaloupe and watermelon are great to take since they have lower calories than most of the fruits and are very filling too. Apart from soup and fruits you can take unsweetened tea, cranberry juice and plenty of water. You should have minimum of 8 to 9 glasses of water everyday.

The 2nd day of the 7 days soup diet would include soup and vegetables. You can eat fresh raw or cooked vegetables like leafy vegetables, baked potato with butter and you can eat as much as you want but try and avoid dry beans, peas and corns. No fruits are included on this day.

Day Three of the 7 days soup diet comprises of a mixture of fruits and vegetables taken with soup. Baked potatoes are not allowed to be taken on this day. Already weight loss can be noticeable in fact you might had shed 6 to 7 pounds by now.

The 4th day of the 7 days soup diet would include bananas and skim milk. You can eat as many as 8 bananas and drink as many glasses of milk you want but don’t miss out on your soup. Though banana and milk are high in calories and carbohydrates but your body will need potassium, carbohydrates, proteins and calcium to lessen the craving for sweets.

Day Five: Day five comes with the introduction of meats and tomatoes, along with the soup. The 7 day soup diet is designed to give you all the proteins, vitamins, and minerals you need and helps to eliminate the ones you don’t need, thus the reason for the tomatoes, which help rid your body of uric acid. On day five you can have up to 12 ounces of meat and up to six fresh tomatoes. Keep drinking that essential water.

The 6th day of the 7 days soup diet includes meat and vegetables but no baked potatoes. You can have 2 to 3 steaks if you like and have as many leafy vegetables your heart desires.

Day Seven: Final day of the 7 day soup diet and you should have lost between 10- 17 pounds at this point. On this day you can have brown rice, your soup, non- sweetened juices, vegetables, and water. The 7 day soup diet is designed to help you learn which foods are the healthiest for you to eat, which one’s provide the best nutrients and vitamins and helps you to get into the habit of eating this way, beyond the 7th day of this diet. In order for you to have the best results, it is always recommended that you include a regular exercise program into your daily routine and continue to eat healthy and keep drinking at least 9 glasses of water daily.
