Gaining weight can be too easy for some people, while others struggle to put on even a pound. This can seem really unfair, especially when we try to struggle our way to weight loss freedom, but a simple change of attitude and a dose of self awareness can work wonders for your waist line.

So what is the simple way to lose weight? Well simple can mean different things to different people. For some people changing their diet can be easy and simple but for others it is far from it because they have to factor in emotional eating which rules their life.

My boyfriend piled on the pounds when my son was born. He is someone who has always had moments in his lifetime where he has been huge, but other moments where he has been a lot slimmer. The culprit for him seems to be the time of year. Generally during the Winter he would put on 20-30lbs very easily, while in the summer he will lose it within weeks. To combat it during the Winter he decided it was to clear up his diet.

The simplest way for him to lose weight was to cut out meat and dairy. Literally everyone seems to be unable to live without these two things but for my boyfriend it wasn’t a big deal to cut them out. He cut meat out first as he knew this would be the hardest of the two to wuit. He made delicious vegetable curries and dishes to help him do this. Sfter this he cut out dairy, which was easier to do because by making vegetable dishes he avoided dairy most of the time anyway.

He lost weight almost instantly by doing this and it wasn’t a struggle. He lost it in his face then the rest of him. He has no intention of adding either dairy or meat back in right now and has stated that he will most likely never have dairy again. Meat however is something he wouldn’t rule out.

On top of getting rid of the meat and dairy, he did also cut out sodas. Sodas are something that go in and out of his diet and usually creep back in in the Winter. They add so many extra calories he would prefer to be without.

Becoming a vegan has allowed my boyfriend to detox. He has found his skin is a lot clearer and he is a lot lighter. This also will help keep him on the healthy path the longer he is vegan as he should feel the effects from heavy fatty foods like meat much more and be less likely to go back to them.

Veganism can be an easy and effective way to lose weight and to become healthy. My boyfriend experienced increased energy levels and felt more content. It can be easy for you like it has been for him.

Veganism has been great for my boyfriend so far and he hasn’t even started his regular bike rides that he starts every spring. When he does he will see the weight fall off even faster!
