We’ve all heard the rhetoric and we know the drill: but sometimes it helps to hear things over and over again until they become second nature, and losing weight falls hard into that category. How wonderful it would be if we didn’t need to eat ever again, and could maintain our bodies without worrying about calorie intake—-but we do need food to sustain us; we just need to learn how to use that food intake to out advantage and use easy ways to lose weight to make it happen.
Think of all the wonderful meals and foodstuffs that are bombarding our senses every waking moment, and one particular food group stands out as being the most desired by the majority of food eaters in our society—–the red meat group. We are mesmerized by a sizzling steak on the grill, a perfect roast with potatoes and carrots, Mom’s meatloaf, and the celebrity of the highway billboards—-the flame broiled, charbroiled, juicy, succulent hamburger. Yum yum—-right? Yep—yum yum alright, but no no if you are looking for easy ways to lose weight. One of the best ways to initiate and maintain weight loss is to radically reduce or better yet cut out completely your intake of red meat. Eat instead chicken or turkey, seafood, fish—–and not only will you be eliminating a huge source of bad for you trans fats and cholesterol, you will be reducing your calorie intake as well. And lay off the creamy sauces and gravies with your protein choices—-they are not good choices for a weight loss diet either.
And up pops the ugly head of the specter of the fried food world: don’t even think about it. Leave the world of fried foods behind in your quest for the new and thinner you, and you will be much better off. Doing away with all forms of fried foods on a continuous basis is definitely one of the easy ways to lose weight because you are eliminating all that fat and trans fat interference that comes with every grease laden serving of fried chicken, fries, onion rings, fried fish—–you name it—–if you fry it, forget it. Our national diet is such and our dining out mentality has been brainwashed to the point that even if you ordered a boiled sock for dinner, you would get fries with it. Talk about killing yourself from the inside out, never mind not ever being able to lose weight effectively.

When you sit down to enjoy a meal and you are starving, you tend to eat anything that makes your mouth water, and at this point, even the napkins look good. Oh boy, time for dessert. But hold your horses here, think this through. Your subconscious is saying “no no no” while that little red fellow on your shoulder is giving you an earful. Time to reach for some fruit. Fruit is the perfect substitute for the usual calorie laden sweet desserts we are used to because it is much lower in calories bite for bite, and it has lots of fiber which will make your insides happy. Do your waistline a favor and give your overall health a boost by eating fruit whenever you feel the urge for something sweet.
The next group to consider when you are searching for easy ways to lose weight is the drinks category. They can be a great help in flushing your system and reducing your appetite and cravings, that is, if you are choosing water: or they can put pound after pound onto your already overloaded frame if you are drinking sugared drinks and alcoholic drinks with abandon. Think about it: many people reach for a sugared soda as a refresher when they need a pick me up, and all they are doing is pouring empty calories into their bodies to be converted later into fat—–not smart. Water is the ruler of the weight loss empire, and if you are put off with drinking plain water, any of the flavored waters will do just as well, or mineral waters work well too. And about the alcohol consumption, for obvious reasons, a little goes a long way: alcohol is also empty calories and can add serious weight if consumed regularly over a period of time, so if you are determined to lose weight—-watch your consumption, or better yet, stop drinking alcohol altogether.
Losing weight is a full time job once you put your mind to it, and even though there are lots of easy ways to lose weight, the bottom line is still the same—–watch the number of calories you take in, lay off of unnatural sweets like candy, cakes, sodas, etc. and turn to fruit, diet sodas, and good old plain water to make those pounds come off. Put a big black mental X through any fried foods you see that are beckoning to you and think fish, seafood and chicken; lots of green vegetables and other colorful veggies to provide the fiber and antioxidants your system needs to be healthy and slim: in doing so, you will find that the weight will come off slowly and surely, and you will feel much much better as well as looking wonderful too.
