Now here’s a novel idea; turning to easy ways to lose weight and making the most of them; as well as learning that eating with a slim you in mind can become second nature, and will become a way of life if you stick to your guns and modify your way of eating. Why is it we eat so many things that are bad for us in the long run: simple—because they taste delicious and they make us feel good. Food is the universal comforting agent for most of us, and with the way our diets and our societies are set up today, we have almost everything we desire at our fingertips and we don’t have to move very much to reach all that delicious plenty either. So, the dilemma of weight loss arises and it is time to do something about all those pounds on your frame; but how………

Let’s take a look at our diets and see what can be pared down or eliminated to cut the calorie intake down to a manageable amount, so we will begin to lose weight slowly and surely. One of the most effective easy ways to lose weight is to cut down or even better yet, cut out your intake of red meat. The American diet revolves around all kinds of ways of serving delectable cuts of steaks and hamburgers, or Mom’s old standbys of roasts and stews; but pound for pound these foodstuffs pack a wallop when it comes to calories and undesirable fats, and your overall diet is better off without them. Use fish or seafood and that omnipresent chicken to fill in the protein part of the diet, and forget the gravies and creamy buttery sauces—-sure, they taste great, but your waistline will suffer for it.

And up pops the ugly head of the specter of the fried food world: don’t even think about it. Leave the world of fried foods behind in your quest for the new and thinner you, and you will be much better off. Doing away with all forms of fried foods on a continuous basis is definitely one of the easy ways to lose weight because you are eliminating all that fat and trans fat interference that comes with every grease laden serving of fried chicken, fries, onion rings, fried fish—–you name it—–if you fry it, forget it. Our national diet is such and our dining out mentality has been brainwashed to the point that even if you ordered a boiled sock for dinner, you would get fries with it. Talk about killing yourself from the inside out, never mind not ever being able to lose weight effectively.

Another one of the easy ways to lose weight that most of us do not think of right off the bat, is when we start a meal, we are thinking of the entree and maybe a pile of appetizers to start off with, but we are not usually thinking of our caloric intake unless we are focused on losing weight. Time to change your way of thinking, and take into consideration how you could cut down you consumed calories and still feel full. Easy. Start the meal with a clear based soup or tomato based soup; or a green salad with minimal light dressing. The soup or salad will start to fill you up, introduce much less calories than you would otherwise eat, and provide you with lots of fiber. You will feel fuller faster, eat less of the heavy entree, and in the long run, be much better off. Steer clear of cream based soups, because—-well obviously, they are loaded with calories and fats and you are trying to avoid all that—-so don’t succumb to the creamy enticement and end up shooting yourself in the foot diet wise.

Okay, the main meal is over—-or it’s mid afternoon, and you want something sweet. What’s the first thing that comes into your mind to satisfy you——-fruit?? Should be. Reach for a piece of fruit when you want something sweet, and steer clear of all that chocolatey gooey creamy dietary disasters that we so readily eat when we are starving or just when we want a taste of sweet after a meal. Your waistline and your overall health will thank you when you include fruit in your diet as your source of sweetness. And it’s a no brainer: it’s one of the easy ways to lose weight and you will come to prefer fruits over the heavy sweets after a time.

The next group to consider when you are searching for easy ways to lose weight is the drinks category. They can be a great help in flushing your system and reducing your appetite and cravings, that is, if you are choosing water: or they can put pound after pound onto your already overloaded frame if you are drinking sugared drinks and alcoholic drinks with abandon. Think about it: many people reach for a sugared soda as a refresher when they need a pick me up, and all they are doing is pouring empty calories into their bodies to be converted later into fat—–not smart. Water is the ruler of the weight loss empire, and if you are put off with drinking plain water, any of the flavored waters will do just as well, or mineral waters work well too. And about the alcohol consumption, for obvious reasons, a little goes a long way: alcohol is also empty calories and can add serious weight if consumed regularly over a period of time, so if you are determined to lose weight—-watch your consumption, or better yet, stop drinking alcohol altogether.

There is no magic cure all when it comes to losing weight. It is difficult to do for the most part and usually takes a lengthy period of time before you see dramatic results, but for serious weight loss and keeping it off power, then you need to buckle down and put your mind to it. Remember that there are many easy ways to lose weight and for the most part, they all boil down to creating a new plan of eating, a changed outlook on the foodstuffs you eat, and sticking to your plan until you see results. There are no quick fixes in weight loss, but what you need to do is to lower your calorie intake, increase your calorie output, ditch foods that are unhealthy for you——ie: unnatural sweets, fried foods, empty calories—–and create a new way of eating and living that will release that thinner you that is waiting inside.
