They say that running is one of the best things you can do for your body, and I’ll fully attest to that statement. I find so many benefits that come with running, ranging from physical ones to mental ones.
I try my best to position myself in such a way that my body and mind are at the biggest possible advantage while I’m running. I like to call these tricks, and I’m now going to share a few of them with you.
I can’t say enough about the impact that food and drink will have on your ability to run. It’s critical to have the right balance of food and water in your system before you set off on your run.
Not eating prior to a run is dangerous. Not only can you grow lightheaded, but there are other health risks that come with the territory. The same goes for water intake, as the last thing you want to be is dehydrated while you’re running. On the same note, don’t overdo either one of these two things.
I’ll also suggest that you always run with music. Whether you have an mp3 player or any other device, you’ll definitely benefit from the presence of music.
There are psychological benefits to this approach. Namely, it serves as a distraction that helps to pass the time more quickly.
Lastly, find that time of day where your body’s most effective. Some people need to do it in the morning and they love the start it gets their day off to.
You may be someone who can’t motivate in the morning. I’m personally that way. On the other hand, there are many people who function best in the morning, as their bodies are most rested then.
Good luck with these tips, and have a great run.
