The brain is continually firing neurotransmitters one after another to control the different body parts and to register all that our senses take in. Yes, our brain is a hard-working, working at all hours so that we stay healthy, strong, and at our finest. We need our brain to function to best it can, so that we can also be the best we can be.

Because of the amount of work the brain is tasked to do, it needs constant supply of nutrients to power it up. However, there are times when the brain is not provided with what it needs to function. The result is that it becomes weak and damaged. No doubt, this is the reason why most are suffering from poor memory.

Aside from the lack of nutrients, we also have to face other factors such as bad health habits, our polluted environment, our unhealthy diet, as well as stress that we face. One other unavoidable fact is that we are getting older.

Keep the brain in tip-top shape! There is something you can do to ward off the loss of your memory and we can still keep the mind alert. With the help of a healthy lifestyle, coupled with a healthy and balanced diet, you can have a healthy brain.

First, keep yourself mentally and physically active. Get yourself regular exercise sessions, not just of the mind but the body as well. Regular exercises will result in excellent blood circulation, which will help to give the brain supplied with the oxygen and nutrients it needs. Also, be sure to keep yourself stress-free. Of course, stress is unavoidable. But make it a point to spend time to ease all that stress away.

Your diet should be comprised of plenty of green, leafy vegetables. And to add to that, take in some memory supplements. Selenium, gingko biloba, ginseng, folic acid, ginger, hawthorn and coenzyme Q10 all work to help you strengthen your brain and boost your memory.
