2. High carb diets: People with great insulin sensitivity can tolerate high carb diets while simultaneously losing weight. The problem with a high carb diet is that it can block weight loss if you are insulin resistant and you miss out on the satiating effects of protein.
3. Low fat diets: Unfortunately, low fat diets can be very damaging to your health. You see, not only does fat provide the building blocks for your nervous system, but it also provides the building blocks for the production of fat burning hormones.
4. Balanced diets: Of all the different diets, balanced diets are by far the healthiest. You see, optimal health and nutrition can only be achieved with a balance of nutrients. After all, combinations of foods interact with each other in ways we still don’t understand.
5. Liquid diets: Taking out solid food from your diet and surviving on liquids is not only unnecessary, but extremely painful. Your body (and digestive tract) are made to process solid food, not liquid shakes. So stick with whole foods and avoid fasting.
Integrated diets that have a combination of nutrients are going to be your best bet for losing weight in the short run and long run. But don’t forget the most important element here: taking action!
