It’s a fact: nothing is more enzyme-rich and nutrient-rich than freshly extracted vegetable juice. It is also the most easily absorbable form of nutrition available! Unfortunately, when most people think of vegetable juice, they typicaly picture canned tomatoe or V-8 juice. However, vegetable juices can be surprisingly tasty and even addictive – in a good way, of course.
Do you feel constantly hungry and craving junk food? Are you always tired and feeling down? A glass of freshly made juice can probably help. If you don’t have a juicer, then go and get yourself one – it’s a good investment in your health. Then get some fruits and vegetables (see the recipe below for a shopping list), make some fresh juice, and drink to your health! Do this twice a day for exceptional results, every day for great results, three times a week for noticeable results, or even just once a week for improvement!
Vegetable juice has all nutrients that your body needs in a form that can be instantly absorbed giving you a boost of energy! Its also great for your health. If you search around online you’ll find literally thousands of people have healed themselves of just about every condition by drinking freshly made vegetable juices.
Recipe for a Delicious Green Cocktail
There are many recipes that you can find on the Internet or in books on the subject. Here is one example of a recipe for a Green Cocktail that you may want to try first:
Simple version (fewer ingredients):
3 stalks of celery or 1 head of lettuce (e.g. romaine)
5-6 leaves of kale
1-2 apples
1 lemon (not peeled)
Additional ingredients (optional):
1 cucumber
1/4 to 1/2 ripe Hawaiian papaya (1/2 makes the juice sweeter)
1/2 cup of of cilantro (or parlsley, or both)
1 cup of fennel (stalk can be used too)
If you like, throw in some beets or carrots too, but then of course it will no longer be green cocktail… You may also like to add a small piece of garlic or ginger.
Drink it every morning or afternoon to jumpstart your energy!
Note: It is best to drink your juice on an empty stomach.
The Benefits of Drinking Fresh Juice
So why juice fruits and vegetables instead of just eating them? What’s the benefit?
First of all, just imagine having to chop all the above ingredients into a bowl and chewing them! A juicer separates the juice from the fiber of the fruits and vegetables making them easier to digest, leaving you with organic water with all the vitamins, minerals, and enzymes from the plants.
Of course, having fiber is important too, but because it is removed from the juice, your body will not have to waste energy on digestion. The nutrients will go straight into the cells to do their work. So, whenever you are experiencing low energy or any health issues – make yourself some fresh juice!

This is great advice if you are concerned about nutrition.
However, if you are involved in WEIGHT LOSS, as opposed to nutrition, you do not want to drink juice! Joanna said why right up there in the post itself. You are removing all the fiber. “You don’t want to waste energy on digestion.” Wrong. If you are trying to effect weight loss, you DO want to expend as much energy as possible on digestion! You are burining extra calories by doing this!
“Imagine having to chop all the ingredients into a bowl and chewing them!” Yes, that’s a GREAT IDEA! Chopping the stuff up burns more calories. Chewing them up burns more calories from moving your jaw! And it satiates you better than just chugging back a glass of juice, which takes about 10 seconds! If you spend 15 minutes consuming the same thing instead of 10 seconds, you are going to get full quicker and feel like you ate more. A lot more.
If you have no weight to lose, then great, enjoy your juice. If you are trying to LOSE WEIGHT, then do NOT buy into THE FRAUD OF JUICE!
