A low carbohydrate vegetarian diet can be a great way to lose weight. However if you want to do it the right way it can require some planning.

The key to making this diet work is having enough protein in each meal so that you lose fat and not muscle. So to have a collection of your favourite foods at home that works out best for your low carb vegetarian recipes.

The majority of my vegetarian low carb recipes is Tofu. Tofu is literally the wonder food of the vegetarian world.

Mimicking eggs or making a recipe that highlights its actual flavour, tofu reigns supreme in the low carb vegan diet world.

Whether it is Asian or Italian you can work Tofu in if you use it right. You first want to start simple with this ingredient and work you way up to proficiency with it. Try small amounts at first, cooked in a variety of ways to find the Tofu dishes that you like best.

The other ingredient you can use to bring some protein into your diet is eggs. Eggs have some advantages over Tofu, but are still a bit lacking in the flavour department. Parmesan is a great choice to spruce up your eggs.

It is especially important to make sure that you and your family are getting the amount protein that you need, as it is very easy to not have enough.

Coconuts, peanuts and cashews are good staple ingredient in vegetarian cooking, and all have their own unique flavour and add taste and texture to any vegetarian meal.

You could make a wonderful wonderful sauces out of peanuts and spruce the blandest meals up with cashews. As coconut milk has lower fat than cow?s milk, it is healthier to drink it in your low carb vegetarian diet.

Peppers are a great choice for explosive flavour and versatility. They provide a shot of flavour with very few calories. It is considered to be a very useful food for vegetarian low carb recipes.

Well there you have some basic ideas to get your vegetarian low carb recipes off the ground. The key is being willing to experiment and try new things so don?t be afraid to give new things a shot.
