H2O is well know for it’s health benefits. It has also long been credited with helping people who are trying to lose weight. The reasons why though are not so widely known.

Some say that it helps you to feel full so you eat less.

Others might suggest that fumbling with a water bottle gives you something to do with your hands and that it takes your mind off of eating. There’s also truth to that.

In fact there are many reasons to combine adequate water intake along with exercise to any weight loss program. One of the most fundamental of these happens to be the importance of water to the body’s metabolism.

We know that metabolism plays a huge role in weight loss. But how does water fit in?

Fat is metabolized by the liver. The liver turns the fat into energy.

But the liver also has other functions and one of those functions involves helping the kidneys out anytime they are not working at full capacity. In order to keep the liver optimized for metabolizing stored fat, it’s critical to have the kidneys carrying their full load.

Water is required in order for the kidneys to perform. If the body determines enough water has not been taken in – it will start to store water. And not necessarily in places we would like.

One way to help the body eliminate water ‘storage’ is to let it have confidence that a continuous stream of water is coming down the pipe and there is no need to hoard.

For most people, it is 8 glasses of water per day.

Overweight people as well as those living in a hot climate or exercising intensely require more, often twice the amount we think of as ‘optimum’.

The body is very efficient at regging rid of water that is not needed.

Since most diets require a reduction in caloric intake, less water is normally consumed as well.

In eating less, water is also lessened. Food accounts for around 30% of most people’s water intake. Eat less, and you’ll also reduce your water consumption.

For some variety, add a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime to your water and drink it chilled whenever possible. And by all means, avoid waiting until you become thirsty to start drinking.

By the time you feel thirsty, the body has already begun the process of storing water.

I have seen truly amazing results in my Weight Loss Breeze program. I use water in the program but in a completely different way than I’ve ever seen in any other program.
