The overall weight of a proportion of Western countries citizens may be rising significantly but the pursuit of health and fitness products and programs seems to be following suit. Perhaps this is in part to those health magazine covers with men and women who have desirable, health and fit looking bodies. As a result, gyms, health spas and other fitness centers have proliferated all over to cater to the needs of the fitness and body conscious enthusiasts.
Although to be honest, trying to avoid the subject is not easy with amount of advertising that goes on to promote diet fitness. The other crucial part to this equation though is the need for every single one of us to watch what we eat and also the amount as there is s direct correlation between weight gain and the volume of food consumed by the average person. We need to remember that our bodies require a certain level of nourishment if they are going to be able to repair themselves and stay healthy and diet and fitness go hand in hand. To make matters worse, there are a number of different opinions about how it works and the two most hotly contended at the moment is the high-carb approach to exercising against the high-fat approach.
What makes this confusing for the amateur is that one side says that you are better of eating foods high in fat when you exercise and the others state you need to eat foods that are a good source of carbohydrates. The more traditional high-carb diet camp says you need to have carbohydrates because the glycogen or glucose is stored in the muscles ready for use when performing anaerobic or what we term, short and rapid exercise.
Fat rich food is also known to be calorie rich which two and a half times the calorific content of carbohydrates and protein plus it is actually quicker to break down in the body ready for use. So a person can follow a high-carb and low fat fitness diet or the other way around but it is not recommended to follow both at the same time; unless of course if you want to gain body fat.
If your aim is to lose body fat then you will need to stick to a diet fitness routine but remember this is not just a short term goal. What many studies have shown is that to achieve this goal you need to have a number of factors considered like you’re your previous medical history, the way you live your live from day to day and a consideration of the foods you like to consume.
Just losing weight is not the issue as many overweight individuals manage to do this but if the diet does not suit them they pile it all back on, so the trick is to organize a diet that exactly fits your needs and maintain a moderation to what you eat. A person must be careful not to leave out important nutrients plus other substances necessary for healthy body functioning and health organizations are clear about the amounts of nutrients an individual should have in the body.
