Imagine being able to eat something that would actually cause you to lose weight. That sounds impossible right? Well, it’s not. There are actually many normal, everyday foods, that will cause you to lose weight and even burn fat. They are called negative calorie foods. Negative calorie foods are foods that burn more calories while they are being digested than they actually contain.

For many people, weight loss can be a very difficult thing. People who have a difficult time losing weight are often people who trouble controlling their appetite. If you are one of these people, then you know exactly what I’m talking about. Consuming negative calorie foods is a healthy and natural solution for people that want to lose weight but can’t control their appetite.

Common foods like rice, pasta, eggs, chicken, and cereal are healthy foods for anyone to consume, but they contain high amounts of calories. That is why even though these foods are healthy, if you eat too much of them you will gain weight. The secret to losing weight and burning body fat, is creating a calorie deficit. You have to consume less calories than you burn in order to maintain a low level of body fat.

Well, there are many other common foods that are not only healthy, but they actually burn more calories than they contain, so it’s like you never ate them in the first place. Most citrus fruits contain high levels of acid that will naturally increase your body’s metabolism, thus causing you to burn more calories. There are also a variety of vegetables that will burn more calories than they contain while they are being digested.

Here is a list of negative calorie fruits and vegetables:

Fruits Apricots, Blackberries, Cantaloupe, Blackcurrant, Peaches, Plums, Damsons, Raspberries, Grapefruit, Rhubarb, Guava, Strawberries, Honeydew, Melon, Tangerines, Lemons, Watermelon.

Vegetables Asparagus, Fennel, Gourd, Broccoli, Leek, Cabbage, Lettuce, Carrots, Marrow, Cauliflower, Peppers, Celery, Radishes, Chicory, Spinach, Cress, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Turnips.

It is not recommended to only consume negative calorie foods, though. You still need to eat a balanced diet of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats to be healthy. You should only eat negative calorie foods in substitution of snacks or with your normal meals. In other words, don’t get carried away and think that if you only eat negative calorie foods for a week, you will lose 20lbs. That would not be a healthy way to lose weight, for many reasons.
