Get Moving. Of course the first step to losing weight and doing it safely is to get your body in motion. Your local fitness center has programs you can join. If you can’t afford to go to a chain gym or fitness center, look into a workout class at the local community center.
You should consult your physician before doing anything though. Understanding what your body will be able to handle is the best thing for you. After all, if you’re extremely overweight then you probably don’t want to start with high-energy aerobic actions.
The whole idea here is to burn more calories than you consume. If you just spend 30 minutes exercising each day it can make a monumental difference.
Those who are just stepping into the exercise arena should take it one day at a time. The smart answer would be to start out with low-impact exercises and avoid the extreme versions. So in the beginning if you have to walk then just start out walking.
A great example of this is swimming. It can be peaceful, relaxing, and work all your muscles in the body. Over time you will begin to look better and better.
When you can handle yoga then you should take advantage of it. This allows you to utilize various breathing techniques, slower movements, posture holds, and a better overall sense of yourself.
