We’ve all heard the rhetoric and we know the drill: but sometimes it helps to hear things over and over again until they become second nature, and losing weight falls hard into that category. How wonderful it would be if we didn’t need to eat ever again, and could maintain our bodies without worrying about calorie intake—-but we do need food to sustain us; we just need to learn how to use that food intake to out advantage and use easy ways to lose weight to make it happen.
Think of all the wonderful meals and foodstuffs that are bombarding our senses every waking moment, and one particular food group stands out as being the most desired by the majority of food eaters in our society—–the red meat group. We are mesmerized by a sizzling steak on the grill, a perfect roast with potatoes and carrots, Mom’s meatloaf, and the celebrity of the highway billboards—-the flame broiled, charbroiled, juicy, succulent hamburger. Yum yum—-right? Yep—yum yum alright, but no no if you are looking for easy ways to lose weight. One of the best ways to initiate and maintain weight loss is to radically reduce or better yet cut out completely your intake of red meat. Eat instead chicken or turkey, seafood, fish—–and not only will you be eliminating a huge source of bad for you trans fats and cholesterol, you will be reducing your calorie intake as well. And lay off the creamy sauces and gravies with your protein choices—-they are not good choices for a weight loss diet either.
And up pops the ugly head of the specter of the fried food world: don’t even think about it. Leave the world of fried foods behind in your quest for the new and thinner you, and you will be much better off. Doing away with all forms of fried foods on a continuous basis is definitely one of the easy ways to lose weight because you are eliminating all that fat and trans fat interference that comes with every grease laden serving of fried chicken, fries, onion rings, fried fish—–you name it—–if you fry it, forget it. Our national diet is such and our dining out mentality has been brainwashed to the point that even if you ordered a boiled sock for dinner, you would get fries with it. Talk about killing yourself from the inside out, never mind not ever being able to lose weight effectively.

When you sit down to enjoy a meal and you are starving, you tend to eat anything that makes your mouth water, and at this point, even the napkins look good. Well, don’t give in to the urges to chow down on heavy foodstuffs and instead start the meal with a cup of soup or a green salad. Oh boy, time for dessert. But hold your horses here, think this through. Here you are looking for easy ways to lose weight and you are seriously considering eating that huge slice of chocolate chocolate cake, or fudge laden brownie with ice cream—–get a grip. Your subconscious is saying “no no no” while that little red fellow on your shoulder is giving you an earful. Time to reach for some fruit. Fruit is the perfect substitute for the usual calorie laden sweet desserts we are used to because it is much lower in calories bite for bite, and it has lots of fiber which will make your insides happy. Do your waistline a favor and give your overall health a boost by eating fruit whenever you feel the urge for something sweet.
And the drinks that accompany your meals, whether during, before, or after are also very important to your overall caloric intake because just regular sodas alone can pile on hundreds and hundreds of calories during the course of a day if you drink them without thinking, which a lot of people do. One of the easy ways to lose weight is to think water, or non caloric drinks—-but go easy on the diet sodas and drinks because studies have shown that the artificial sweeteners may stimulate your cravings for a sweet taste and you can affect your metabolism by ingesting too much of them. Water is still king, and if you must have flavorings, the flavored waters or mineral waters fill the bill and taste great. And don’t forget that old nemesis, alcohol. It does nothing but add empty calories to your intake total, and puts the kibosh on your weight loss efforts big time. If you must have a drink now and then, go easy: and remember to include the alcoholic calories in your daily tally.
There is no magic cure all when it comes to losing weight. It is difficult to do for the most part and usually takes a lengthy period of time before you see dramatic results, but for serious weight loss and keeping it off power, then you need to buckle down and put your mind to it. Remember that there are many easy ways to lose weight and for the most part, they all boil down to creating a new plan of eating, a changed outlook on the foodstuffs you eat, and sticking to your plan until you see results. There are no quick fixes in weight loss, but what you need to do is to lower your calorie intake, increase your calorie output, ditch foods that are unhealthy for you——ie: unnatural sweets, fried foods, empty calories—–and create a new way of eating and living that will release that thinner you that is waiting inside.
