What precisely is a “Free Radical”? While most of us have heard the word, it is not inevitably clear exactly what a free radical is. When the body uses oxygen for normal processes, unpaired electrons or free radicals are released in the process.
Free radicals are extremely unstable, unpaired oxygen molecules that can initiate a great deal of problem and strain for the body. Free radicals are a big contributing factor to premature aging, the clogging of arteries, the increase of diseases and more.
Antioxidants work to neutralize the free radicals. The antioxidant will pair up with the unpaired electron or the free radical and steady it. However, in the process of that more free radicals are formed and you must always persist to replace the antioxidants.
