If You Want to Get Skinny, Get the Habit!

Do you find that there are times of the year when we start to take a closer look in the mirror, aren’t there? Maybe it’s at New Year or perhaps in Spring when our minds start to think of warm Summer months, swimming, sand and sun. When you look at the image in the mirror can sometimes come as a bit of a shock, can’t it?

Most of the winter months you have spent avoiding the mirror: out of sight out of mind. You are well aware that you’ve let the pounds pile up. Now the reality is looking back at you. This is something you are going to have to face if you are to look your best on the beach. The weight has got to come off and quickly.

We nearly always give ourselves too little time. What most of us fail to appreciate is that most of the extra pounds we’ve been carrying around happened over months, even years. Now we want it all to disappear instantly.

There are many, many diets that cater for our impatience. They offer instant weight loss. “Lose 11 pounds in 10 days”…”no effort required”. It all sounds too easy for words, and the problem is that too many people are taken in by all the hype. They honestly believe that their weight problem can disappear and they can become instantly skinny. If only it was that easy!

What you have to remember is the “the faster the weight comes off, the faster it will come back again”. There is no such thing as a free lunch in this world…perhaps not the right metaphor, but when things are too easy, there is usually a catch. The catch is that the weight will come back. Quick diets are a waste of time.

What to do? How to get skinny? If you want to lose weight and for the weight not to come back is to learn new habits, slim habits Only by making change can you be sure that the weight will not return.
