Even in today’s busy world, a lot of people still like to arrange at least one daily or at least weekly meal on a schedule (usually dinner). The goal is normally to include everyone in the family.
A large sometimes lengthy meal creates a chance for the family or extended family to socialize and bond. It also creates an opportunity for parents to assert some control over what their children are eating.
Many modern diets now recommend consuming less food at each sitting and increasing the number of times one eats daily. This poses a question: If caloric intake is the same, how is it that several smaller meals is better than 2 or 3 large ones?
Even when we’re sleeping, blood sugar changes. Blood sugar is raised once food is eaten and digestion starts. After blood sugar consumption, it goes back down. That is when hunger and other effects such as headaches begin.
It is suggested that an optimal level of metabolism can be achieved by stabilizing blood sugar levels. This might be accomplished by eating small meals often throughout the day. The higher energy level can make exercise more likely.
Studies also prove however, that in order to lose weight, overall calories must be reduced. This applies to “grazing” consumption or large meals.
People who have tried to lose weight by denying themselves food (even when hungry) can attest to how difficult it is to maintain the “will power.” Once adverse effects begin due to the hunger symptoms, poor eating habits become more likely.
How often have you tried to reduce weight, but then ended up binging or overeating “comfort” foods either out of convenience or to counteract the hunger?
A way of life has to be redefined in the end. If weight loss is your goal, how are you most apt to consistently eat good, healthy food and limit your empty calories?
Family togetherness over the breakfast or dinner table is extremely important to many people. It may be the only time for some families to bond.
Eating together and family bonding does not have to be eliminated or stressful when someone in the house is trying to take off the pounds. It may just need to be done a little differently. Rather than focusing on making as much food as possible to entice everyone to gather around the table, menu plan around healthy but good tasting food.
My Weight Loss Breeze Program is all natural and does not require any special food restrictions. It is a great tool alone or in conjunction with your own dietary or lifestyle changes.
