After dieting for a while and trying several of them you might think that there is nothing new to learn and you know about the concepts of nearly all popular diets.
It can be true because after finding out their pros and cons, your experience and understanding grow keeping you away from being surprised about anything. However, one diet should pleasantly surprise you.
It\’s called Abs diet and it uses some old and almost forgotten concept. The concept is simple but very powerful same time; weight loss is achieved by exercising while having a special diet including just 12 nutrient rich foods.
About exercising… Muscles compared to fat, make your body spend much more energy to keep them in shape, that\’s why in order to make your body use more energy, you need to have more muscle.
Easy isn\’t it? In order to lose weight, instead of lowering your calorie intake, you have to increase your energy usage by having more muscles. Muscle mass will use the energy that would be stored as fat normally.
Simple math … 1 pound of muscle makes your body lose about 50 calories a day. So, 10 pounds will take 500 calories and so on. 500 calories less a day for instance can make you lose 1 pound a week. Not bad at all.
This approach creates so called snowball effect making you lose more weight when you increase your exercising volume.
Food part in the diet… Dieters are allowed to eat 12 nutrient rich foods that should provide all the vitamins, minerals and fibre. These foods are: almonds, low-fat dairy products, beans and peas, spinach and a couple of other green vegetables, eggs, instant hot oat cereal, wholegrain breads and cereals, berries, lean meats (such as turkey), olive oil, protein powder, peanut butter. Everything else is prohibited during the diet.
Duration of the diet usually is 6 weeks and some may find it hard to stick to it but better looking body, nice set of abs and weight loss should give needed motivation. Realistic weight loss in first two weeks is up to staggering 12 pounds.
