The Every Other Day Diet means that you have one day of eating normally and the one day of eating light. The day where you eat light consists of 300-400 calories. Created by Dr. John Daugirdas, it was meant to help with weight loss but not feel like they are being deprived.
The diet has not been completely evaluated for its effectiveness; but, anyone who has the following illnesses should not use this diet: kidney or heart disease, diabetes, eating disorders, strokes or hypertension.
Low calorie diets can result in a slowing of your metabolism. In the hopes of preventing this, the diet allows normal eating days.
Eat a big breakfast on normal days; but, do not eat after 7pm. Restrict the amount of sweets eaten and choose healthy foods. Do not eat too much.
There are recommended caloric intakes for men and women. Depending on age and activity level, men should eat’00 to 2400 calories per day while women should eat 1200 to’00 per day.
