American’s love diets. Everyone is looking for that magic weight loss plan that works. Some try surgery, while others try numerous fad diets. But, we still ask “how can I lose the weight and not gain back 50 plus 6 months later?”
Most fad diets cut something out, usually good wholesome nutrition and that is never the answer. I am sure you have tried them. Yes, they can make you drop 20 pounds in 30 days, but man when you stop it comes back with a mad vengeance.
How about the “only eat this diets and you will lose”. Well of course you will lose, any time you deprive yourself from food you will lose. But you lose more then weight most of the time, like nutrition. Nutrients that keep you healthy and energized.
How about diet pills? There is usually a whole section in the supermarket dedicated to these diet wonders. Just because they are sold in stores does not make them safe. Read the warnings on some of the boogers, it will scare the heck out of you.
What I am about to tell you is no secret and I bet it is not what you want to hear, but it is the honest truth. The very best way to achieve weight loss and keep it off is through a healthy diet and exercise. I know it sounds hard, but it really is not.
I am not saying you should drastically reduce calories and work out 7 days a week for 2 hours. You might as well take the diet pills, you wouldn’t have to work so hard to harm yourself. You should aim for losing 1-2 pounds per week. More then that your asking for trouble.
Not getting enough nutrition can not be replaced with vitamins. Vitamins are to be only a supplement not a replacement. We need enough calories to sustain our muscles, muscles help us lose weight. And without proper nutrition we can age ourselves 5-10 years.
So what you need to do is quit simple. Add some exercise into your day. You do not have to be a fitness fanatic to reap the benefits. Three-4 days a week of moderate exercise will do. Get plenty of water and make more sensible choices as often as you can in your diet.
