Not everybody is a chef and not everyone has a lot of cooking experience. We all have to begin somewhere and gaining confidence by making easy entres is a very good starting point. After that, you can try your hand at appetizers and desserts.

Maybe you have never made a three course meal because you can just see all those pots and pans boiling over on the stove in your mind’s eye. It is true that having to concentrate on lots of things happening at once can be stressful but you do not have to make everything at the same time. If you are serving cold appetizers and a cold dessert, you can make them one at a time and leave them in the refrigerator while you make the main dish. Doing things one step at a time removes the stress and makes things easier.

Maybe you have already made some dinner recipes but have not yet tried making desserts. Not every meal is followed by a dessert and some families rarely eat them. Also, you can get many different readymade desserts from the grocery store so a lot of people do not bother making homemade ones any more.

That is a pity because homemade desserts are so good! They taste fresher than store bought ones, work out cheaper than buying readymade desserts and your family will enjoy eating something you have prepared yourself.

The Easiest No Bake Desserts

Some of the easiest desserts to make are those that do not need baking. A nice way to become more familiar with no bake desserts is to try out a few jello recipes. Jello is hard to mess up, as long as you follow the directions on the package or in the recipe you are making.

Plain jello is simple to make and you just have to combine the jello powder with hot water, add cold water, mix it well, and let it set. That is absolutely all there is to it.

Once you are comfortable with that, you can add some pieces of fruit to the jello mixture to liven it up a bit. Mandarin segments, mixed canned fruit pieces and strawberries all go nicely but do not use fresh pineapple, guava, kiwi fruit, or papaya because these have an enzyme, which does not let jello set. Perhaps you would like to serve the jello with some whipped cream and chopped nuts or chocolate sprinkles.

Jello recipes are an excellent way to familiarize yourself with the world of dessert making because a lot of them are very simple and quick. When you are happy with your jello you might want to try making a Jello pudding or a jello topped cheesecake recipe.

Most people love jello and your family will be delighted to sample your new homemade desserts. You might like to try different flavors because jello comes in plenty of delicious flavors including cherry, mandarin, lemon, strawberry, cranberry, peach and many more. You can also get sugar free jello, which has almost no calories, carbohydrates, or fat.

Jello recipes are suitable for everybody to make, no matter whether you are new to cooking (you do not have to cook jello!) or dessert making. In fact, jello has to be one of the easiest desserts in the world, even though it is one of the nicest tasting as well.
