To prepare for Day 2 on the HCG Low calorie diet I went shopping again last night. This diet is going to require that I up the frequency of my grocery shopping visits, but it’s not bad. I’m actually feeling pretty good about the fact that I’m actually cooking healthy meals. I’m kind of impressed with myself.
This morning I dragged myself out of bed and got on the scale. Normally this would not be a HAPPY way to start off the day, but I lost almost 6 pounds! Wahoo! I went from 171 to 165.2…overnight! That’s amazing. I figure this is going to be one of those drop drastic and then stay static for a few days as they warned in the handbook, but I’m still ecstatic over that moment when I saw the drop register on the scale. It was amazing.
It’s Saturday. Yesterday was Black Friday and I blew off shopping because I figured there wasn’t anything I needed desperately and I was busy dieting for goodness sake! But this morning I realized there is one thing that I really, really wanted to get during the after Thanksgiving day sales. So I took my B-Total and my homeopathic HCG weight loss formula. Then I went about getting stuff around the house done so I’d be ready to go after lunch.
The kids got ready and I took my second set of HCG drops. I made lunch for myself (Shake and Bake Tilapia is fabulous as a leftover). I sliced a tomato to go along with it, ground some pepper over the top of the tomato slices and tossed a Gala apple in my bag to take along shopping. Since the kids knew we were headed out they begged for Kids’ Meals and I decided that would be easy so I agreed.
We got to the mall and got moving. After we hit a couple stores the kids reminded me that we forgot to stop and get them lunch and now they were hungry (I had eaten lunch quite early since we were going to be at the mall…not a lot of HCG approved meals or snacking there). So…that’s how I ended up at the mall food court with Chick-fil-a on one side and Panda Express on the other. I got up and got myself a Diet Coke out of desperation, but even that didn’t do it. I totally broke. I had a few bits of Mango Chicken off my daughter’s plate and I had 2 pieces of chicken from my son’s Chick-fil-a Kids’ Meal (it’s the buffalo sauce…it’s amazing).
So that’s the low point so far…and this is Day 2 of the low calorie portion of the diet. And I have to say…that was a pretty “low” low point. But what can I do about it after the fact? Not much! So I went ahead and let my kids finish their own lunches (I only had a couple bites, I swear). And then I came home, had an appropriate salad, told myself next time I’d have to be in much more trouble for breaking the rules and took my drops again.
