Liposuction surgery is the most popular cosmetic surgery performed in the United States, with hundreds of thousands of people receiving treatments each year. There are many, many doctors out there who perform liposuction, but how do you make a good decision in picking the best one for you? Marketing tactics can sway you to focus on the wrong factors and not necessarily make the right decision in getting a good, experienced doctor. Remember, this is someone who is being trusted to cut open your body, remove fat, and then put it all back and make things look better. You don’t want someone sub-par, or even just average, performing the procedure, do you?

That being said, let’s take a look at the top 3 factors to focus on when choosing a doctor to perform liposuction surgery.

1. Don’t get too caught up in trying to get a “good deal” for the price. Surely, it’s impossible to completely negate this factor, as how much money you have will determine how much you can allot for something like this. But the point is, you don’t want to get too caught up in the focusing on the price. It’s possible that by looking at price alone, you’ll end up with an inexperienced doctor or a doctor that doesn’t meet our requirements below. Let’s look at those now.

2. The doctor should be willing to answer all your questions until you are satisfied. Trusting someone with your body can take a lot of time – time spend asking questions, time spend scoping them out, time spent making sure they know what they’re doing. Don’t be afraid to ask a lot of questions to the doctor – this is your body and your surgery, and they need to be able to address all your concerns before you commit to having the surgery done. A doctor who won’t do so doesn’t deserve your business.

3. The doctor should have a solid track record, a good portfolio, and good feedback from previous customers. Ask to see pictures of their work before. A reputable doctor with years of experience should have a large portfolio of before and after work accumulated; specifically, look at the procedure you’ll be doing, and see what kind of results this doctor has achieved on other peoples bodies. If desired, look online for the doctors name and see if people have reviewed or commented on his or her services. The point is that when it’s all said and done, the doctor needs to be good at what he or she does, and you need to feel confident that is the case by seeing a little evidence.

Liposuction is not risk-free; like all surgery procedure, there are possible problems that can come about. However, following the guidelines above you are in a better position to minimize those risks. Don’t be scared to ask questions, look around, and keep hunting until you find the right doctor – in the end, you really can’t accept anything but the best when it comes to your body.

There are many procedures for success but the decision comes down to one person and that person is YOU. Happiness is important and if the decision makes you happy, I say go for it.
