<p>We&#8217;ve all got that sweet tooth to a certain extent and ending a meal with a sweet treat is something that seems very natural, particularly at family get-togethers and holiday events.</p>
<p>There are some secrets and ideas to the sugar free desserts and low carb desserts that are quick easy solutions that you can make. These do not take a lot time to make or expensive ingredients to buy. Some do however contain sweetener with no carbohydrates, so if you have irritable bowel issues from these sweeteners be sure to read the ingredients in the various recipes.</p>
<p>If you like to bake, but aren&#8217;t crazy about exploring new options on your own, there are a few things that can be used for excellent dessert items when cutting carbs, calories, and sugar from your diet. <p>Today I&#8217;m giving you the perfect late-night pasta. If you haven&#8217;t yet tried spaghetti squash, you simply have to! It is my all-time favorite kind of squash and you&#8217;ll find so many methods to mix it up, so you&#8217;ll never get bored. Here are a few of my personal favorites:</p>
<p>1. Eat it like pasta that has lean turkey meat sauce 2. Drizzle some seasoning and olive oil 3. Eat it cold as a pasta salad</p>
<p>Spaghetti squash is so easy to make. Just stab a couple of holes in it and put it inside the microwave until the skin is soft. Allow it to cool enough to handle, then cut it open, scrape out the seeds, and rake it using a fork.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not super rich in nutrients like some of the leafy greens, however it is nutritious and has folic acid, potassium, vitamin A, and beta carotene. It is also low in calories (only 42 per cup), making it a fantastic anytime carb.</p>

You don&#8217;t have to purchase commercial cakes and cookies which contain empty calories; you might make your own.</p>
<p>Even sugar friendly experts uphold that the empty calories provided by sugars can be substituted with more wholesome ways to increase and retain energy levels. Though a high protein low carb intake is preferable, foods containing more carbs are usually more tasty and/or convenient.</p>
<p>The best way to achieve a healthy body is to ensure that your diet contains mostly high protein low carb foods. You will need to greatly reduce the amount of carbohydrates from your diet by eliminating &#8220;bad&#8221; carbs and adding &#8220;good&#8221; carbs from fresh fruits and vegetables. <p>Although getting into the habit of following a well balanced and nutritious low carb vegetarian diet may take a bit of doing, it will be worth it. As time passes, you will experience an improved physical condition, and you will not only feel much better, you&#8217;ll also look better.</p>
<p>Becoming a vegetarian may take some getting used to. Don&#8217;t attempt to go &#8220;cold turkey&#8221;! Try reducing the amount of meat you eat while improving the quality. Eat only lean meat and have it only one time daily. After a while, cut that down to one time a week. Still later, reduce it to once a month. Each time you reduce the amount of meat you are eating, increase the amount of other protein sources. Eventually, you will choose these sources over meat. At that point you can consider yourself to be a vegetarian.</p>

<p>Whichever way you turn, someone is hyping a new diet that will make you reach all of your weight loss goals. Some have been established to be beneficial and others have ended up being harmful for your health. This brings us to the Atkins diet, what is it? Will this diet work for you? </p>
<p>Some years after Dr. Robert Atkins finished medical at Cornell University in 1955, he found himself overweight and looking for answers. Atkins made is diet plan similar to one that he had seen in the Journal of American Medical Association. He first published Dr Atkins Diet Revolution in 1970.</p>
<p>Through the years, he changed his plan a little but he never got too far away from the diet&#8217;s basic principals. The diets is focused on eliminating carbohydrates from the western diet.</p>
<p>The whole diet revolves around the idea that carbohydrates are the main cause of you being overweight. As you would imagine this means, the diet will restrict the intake of carbs. The diet is broken down into four phases each one building on the last.</p>
<p>Induction. The first part is definitely the most limited. The suggested time to stay on this phase is two weeks, but Atkins states that you it is safe to stay at this phase for months. Carbohydrates are limited to 15-20 grams per day of which 12-15 must come from leafy vegetables. This part of the diet will also let you eat little amounts of cheese, large amounts of meat and essential fats. At this stage, the goal is to put the body into ketosis and add some healthy fiber to the diet.</p>
<p>Ongoing Weight Loss. Phase 2 consists of slowly raising the carbohydrate intake until weight loss is being achieved at a more reasonable level, 1-2 pounds per week. Carbohydrates are to be increased at five grams per day and still from a safe list of foods, vegetables first determining how many carbs can be ingested without gaining weight. Dieters are to stay in this phase until they are five to ten pounds from goal weight.</p>
<p>Pre Maintenance. This is the time when weight loss slows even more, Atkins recommends loosing the last ten pounds or so over a 1-3 month period. During this phase, dieters should use the method in phase 2 and add carbohydrates in at as much as ten grams per day again to the point that they are able without gaining weight.</p>
<p>Maintenance. Here is when you take all that has been learned from the previous phases and continue on a healthy plan in order to stay at your best weight. Prevent the typical end of diet mentality and going back to bad habits.</p>
<p>Ketosis. This condition occurs when there are elevated levels of ketone bodies in the blood. This happens when the liver converts fat into fatty acids, a normal response of the liver to a diet that is extremely low in carbohydrates. Normally the body depends on glucose from the carbohydrates in your diet, when they are absent the body will begin to burn fat stores instead. You know your body is in ketosis state when you have a metallic taste in your mouth or bad breath.</p>
<p>Medical professionals are divided in their opinion on ketosis. There is still some controversy, but there are those who believe that it needlessly stresses the liver and can destroy muscle tissue.</p>
<p>For many people the diet does work. Just in the first phase, people can net a ten to fifteen pound loss in as little as a week. Just like any diet, the outcome will be much better if you exercise because it raises the metabolism and helps you to avoid cardiovascular disease.</p>

<p>Americans spend billions of dollars on dieting, diet programs, diet foods, diet books, and diet pills. Another billion more is spent on treating the diseases associated with obesity and being overweight. Health concerns related to being obese or overweight are epidemic in America. Carrying extra pounds has many serious long-term consequences for your health. Being obese or overweight can result in health problems like diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, heart disease, osteoporosis and certain cancers. </p>
<p>Don&#8217;t go for the quick weight loss. Make a good diet program and exercise a part of your life. There are many diet programs, you need to find the one that works best for you and stick with it. There are no healthy, short-term, diet programs for solving obesity, or being overweight. Changes in lifestyle, such as more exercise or dieting, must be permanent changes.</p>
<p>Exercise will get your weight loss started. Combined with a healthy diet, exercise helps the body return to a healthy condition. Regularly walking, swimming, cycling, jogging, skiing, aerobic dancing, will help get the weight off and it improve heart, lung, and brain function. Exercise stimulates various brain chemicals, which can leave you feeling happier and more relaxed than you were before you worked out.</p>
<p>For you to stay alive your heart needs to pump blood through your body. The heart does a much better job when your body is in shape. Your cells stay oxygenated and your resting pulse will be steady and healthy.</p>
<p>Do you start huffing and puffing after walking a flight of stairs? That is a sure sign that your body is not getting enough oxygen to your cells. Taking preventative measures such as exercising, will help to lessen your risk of facing serious health conditions at a young age.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t overdo it when you start out, go slow and get a checkout from your Doctor.  If you&#8217;ve been inactive for years, big changes can cause you big problems. Small changes over time can make you a new person. Start with 10 minutes of easy exercise or a walk every day and increase gradually over time. If you have a day when the body is too sore then skip it and work out the next day. Being steady is more important than being intense. You can get intense later when you are in shape, you will enjoy it more. Exercise releases &#8220;feel good&#8221; hormones when you have had a good workout or walk. Just the fact that you have completed the workout will make you feel better about yourself. If you want to keep those good vibrations, you have to continue to exercise and make it a part of your life.</p>
<p>Negative health outcomes associated with obesity are accepted within the medical community, the health implications of being overweight are more controversial. It is generally accepted that being overweight causes similar health problems as obesity just to a lesser degree. </p>
<p>It is generally accepted that for significantly obese patients, losing weight can reduce health risks and improve quality of life. There is evidence to suggest that for merely overweight people, the health effects of attempting to lose weight may actually be more detrimental than simply remaining overweight. For all individuals, repeatedly losing weight and then gaining it back, is believed to do more harm than good. Stay away from quick fad diets that can cause the loss of more muscle than fat. <p>Emotional eating is one of the greatest challenges in any calories loss diet because with the best of intentions, we can easily sabotage our efforts by uncontrolled binging brought about by our day to day emotional ups and downs. To manage our eating and to continue to enjoy a gradual weight loss, we need to be aware of and to some degree manage our emotions. The tips below will assist you to do this as you re-shape your body.</p>
<p>Learn how to determine whether what you feel is hunger or just a learned emotional response. The real physical signs of hunger can include a rumbling tummy or perhaps feeling lethargic and weak so if you have experienced emotional responses to eating across many years, you may eat before feeling truly hungry and not recognize these symptoms easily. Allow yourself to get genuinely hungry before eating so that you can become familiar with what this feels like and more accurately pin point when you should eat to provide the fuel your body needs.</p>
<p>Identify what causes your emotional eating by recording when, what and why you feel like eating and take notice of the pattern of your eating behaviors.  Do you crave sweet foods when you are feeling down or under pressure and can anything on your calories loss menu satisfy this need? Have you conditioned yourself to a coke and candy as a pick me up at the end of the day or is hot chocolate and a cookie to sooth you before you head off to bed?  </p>
<p>Identifying the situations and the times of the day that make you crave certain foods is the key to stopping emotional eating so if you know that you will crave something sweet when you get home to dull the stress of your trip, you can find another way to handle that stress that does not involve food. Maybe you need to listen to music for 15 minutes after you get home, or have a cup of tea with a calories loss snack like low fat cheese on a cracker as you read the newspaper, or maybe a hot shower will help.  Find another way to alleviate the stress that makes you want to eat something sweet because dealing with that stress in a healthier way will help you lose weight and manage your stress more effectively.</p>
<p>Cross comfort food off your shopping list as this may give you momentary comfort when things are tough, but if there is none in the pantry, you can not eat it and will learn to seek comfort in other ways. If you feel down and think escaping in front of the TV with a soda and bag of buttery popcorn is the best way to recover, will you drive to the nearest supermarket to buy this comfort food?  Probably not, if you are like most people who search for an alternative food at home rather than go out to buy what they would like to indulge in.</p>
<p>Seek comfort in things other than food so that if you feel miserable or pressured you head outside for a walk with your partner or some games in the park with your family or friends. It would be nice if you could just wave a wand and not have anymore unhealthy food cravings but that is not realistic so have a list of alternatives to eating a greasy hamburger and include in these relaxing with a glossy mag that you love, a long hot bath or a pedicure- whatever it is that you really enjoy.  Make a list of these alternatives and be ready to act on them instead of eating.</p>
<p>Keep healthy food in the house because if you have healthy snacks in the house you can use those as a substitute for comfort food when a craving hits. Instead of candy bars, keep granola bars in the cupboard and instead of chips, keep popcorn or sliced veggies or other calories loss foods around because making healthy substitutions for the foods you crave is a very practical way to deal with emotional eating. After all, cravings happen but eating healthy snacks in place of the high fat, high calorie comfort food is a practical and responsible way to deal with food cravings when they happen. </p>
<p>Delay any eating at least 30 minutes from when you are first aware of your craving, keeping a close and accurate check on this time. Do not cheat and start eating earlier than this and if after 30 minutes you still feel hungry, only eat half the portion of the food you planned to eat. You will often discover that after the waiting 30 minutes that your craving will have diminished or even vanished especially if you have found something else to occupy yourself.</p>
<p>Do something active instead of eating as this does not just use calories, to help with your calorie loss, it also causes your brain to secret endorphins and serotonin and these lift your spirits. So the next time you reach for a pizza to feel better, grab your sneakers and go for a walk, or a bike ride, or a run to help with your weight loss and to make you feel better. Even just a quick mile walk can really change your mood and when you get back you will feel as good as you would feel if you had just eaten 4 slices of pizza.</p>

But do we keep that commitment going with a calories loss diet and exercise or do we resume the wrong eating habits and lifestyle and fail to lose any weight or worse still gain it instead? </p>
<p>The truth is that this does happen more often than we would like because dieting is tough sometimes and making changes to our lifestyle can be tough too. If you want the changes you make to your eating habits and exercise to be effective over the long term, you will need to commit seriously to making sure that this happens. Looking great and feeling healthy always starts with a genuine commitment to this goal through a calories loss diet and daily exercise.</p>
<p>Committing to anything involves letting others in on your secret and using some kind of outward sign that you are serious. <p>The rate of weight loss is considered by doctors and others in this field to be approximately 1-2 pounds each week. These may not seem much but it is sufficient for your body to accommodate your weight loss and remain healthy and it is also enough to continue to lose weight over an extended period of time. <p>A very common problem that stops people from successful weight loss is using food as a reward. For adults, almost all social activity revolves around food or drink so it is easy to associate food with celebration. Generally the cake, cookies and ice cream we eat at celebrations and wash down with equally celebratory champagne is not the type of food that we would include on a calories loss diet in a serious effort to regain our healthy body.</p>
<p>Did you win a big contract at work that the boss will probably take you out to lunch to celebrate? Do you have an important anniversary coming up when your spouse will probably make reservations at a nice restaurant? As there always seems to be a reason to celebrate in our lives, it is not surprising then that people use food to reward themselves for accomplishments. </p>
<p>Perhaps you treat yourself to dinner at a restaurant after a frantic project at work or you may have been exercising regularly and want to acknowledge the effort this has taken with a bowl of wedges and a beer. The problem with this is that while the idea of reward is OK, even worthwhile, if you do this with food your capacity to stay committed to a calories loss menu will diminish. To alter this kind of thinking, it is important that you recognize how you are undermining your healthy eating and find other ways to celebrate in your life.</p>
<p>Discover how food has become a reward for your achievements, especially whether or not this has become a behavior you developed as a child or more recently during your adulthood. Interestingly but perhaps not surprisingly childhood is often the source of some of our eating behaviors and because these were learned in a different era when puddings with every meal and lashings of cream with cake were acceptable then, they are not always helpful now. When you have determined how you learned to eat food rewards as you do, you will be better able to change them.</p>
<p>Take deliberate action not to use food as a reward when next you celebrate for any reason.  Find an alternative to coffee and donuts or a three course meal at your favourite restaurant with a &#8216;non-food&#8217; reward like; buying yourself a new piece of jewelry, going to that movie (but skip the popcorn) or renting one of your favorite movies and watching it twice. By changing your reward system to these kinds of treats you can enjoy double the benefit as you keep losing weight on your calories loss eating plan.</p>
<p>Search out rewards that you can enjoy for an extended time, unlike food rewards that only last as long as it takes to eat them. Spend an afternoon at the beach, go to the craft store and blow $20 on any craft supplies that look fun, treat yourself to a day at a local spa or be like me and splurge of a new bottle of perfume or pair of shoes. There are endless ways of finding longer lasting rewards than foods and every time you use them, wear them or experience them they remind you that you are achieving your work or family goals as well as your health goal; sticking with your calories loss eating plan and continuing to lose weight. </p>
<p>Locate places for outings with friends and family that do not focus on eating so that you can alter the way you think about rewarding yourself differently.  Find places where activity is the main reason for getting together rather than eating. Frisbee or a game of soccer in the park, hip Latin dance classes are all fun, involve the fine tuning of your skills, include no food and are more than likely going to appeal to those you choose to invite to join you.</p>
<p>Avoid situations in which food is made the center of the celebration as much as you can and remember that your long term goal is long term weight loss. If you have no choice, on occasions like office parties or weddings, join in the celebrations by interacting with the people around you or enjoying the music, rather than concentrating on the meal itself. Look for food items that can be part of your calories loss diet and enjoy the &#8216;win win&#8217; outcome of being part of the celebration without compromising your journey to a healthier body and life.</p>

<p>The 5 Factor weight loss diet was made by celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak for celebrities that need to loose weight fast and get in shape without getting hungry and weak.  The diet is based on the number 5. For five weeks you eat five meals a day and do five workout sessions a week with five exercises each. </p>
<p>Harley Pasternak wrote the book 5 Factor Fitness in 2004. The book 5 Factor Diet was published in 2007; it is an expanded version of the dietary portion of the 5 Factor Fitness book. This is not just another Hollywood diet gimmick, this is a nutritious, balanced diet that includes all the recommended food groups, it helps people get control of their appetites and lose pounds.</p>
<p>If you want to lose 10 pounds or lose 20 pounds this is a good diet because it emphases nutrition and not getting hungry. The best part is it works; it can help you change the eating behaviors that caused you to gain the weight in the first place. </p>
<p>Each meal has no more than five ingredients and takes no more than five minutes to prepare. Each of the 5 daily meals is low in fat and calories and a proper mix of lean protein like chicken, fish, or low-fat dairy. Each meal also has fruits and vegetables, whole grain fiber, monounsaturated fats and water or other sugar-free fluids, all in proper proportions. All refined flour and added sugar is banned.</p>
<p>All of the carbohydrates must have a low rank on the glycemic index scale.  Lower glycemic carbohydrates will give you a more stable blood sugar level. The Glycemic index is a measure of the effects of carbohydrates on blood glucose levels. High GI carbohydrates break down rapidly during digestion and cause your body to release glucose rapidly into your bloodstream; carbohydrates that break down slowly, releasing glucose gradually into the bloodstream, have a low GI.</p>
<p>Drinking water before a meal helps you fill full so you will eat less food.  Fiber is a part of each meal.  The insoluble fiber will wash out of your system and take some of the fat from the meal with it.  </p>
<p>It is important not to skip meals, this causes the body to store fat instead of burn it.  Skipping meals tells the body to keep the fat.  Eating 5 times a day, increases the metabolism so you lose fat.  The 5 Factor diet has one day a week when can eat favorite foods that you have eliminated from your diet.  </p>
<p>You are not left on your own with just a book, the website is useful and informative; it is loaded with meal plans, menus, eating and exercise plans, journals, and much more. The exercise portion of the 5 Factor diet includes activity five days a week for twenty-five minutes a day.</p>

<p>Weight loss programs and diet programs are a huge business.  I am always seeing ads for weight loss products that promise miraculous results.  Some of them are magic pills, some have meal plans, and others are magic diets that increase your metabolism. You can have marvelous success with many of these programs. You will have much better success over the long if you learn how to lose weight and incorporate it into your life.</p>
<p>Healthy Weight Loss Tips</p>
<p>Weight loss nutrition is much better than weight loss pills. Eating many fruits and vegetables will help you slim down. Fruits and vegetables are low in calories and high in fiber, this will help you feel full without the excess calories. Fruits and vegetables also increase your metabolism, much more so than doughnuts. Fruits will help you with your cravings for sweets.</p>
<p>There are foods that you are going to need to cut out of your diet. One of the main ones is fried foods. It is much better to bake or steam your food or eat it raw. </p>
<p>It will do a lot for you if you stop eating meat. Once you stop eating meat for a few weeks you will not want to eat it any more. I saw a man lose 90 pounds over a year just by not eating meat and sweets. He still ate more than any two people would ever need but he still lost weight. He did do Yoga and walked but that was all he did that was different. He did not need diet pills or any special programs. Just good, healthy foods.</p>
<p>You need to replace the doughnuts and angle food cakes with fruits. Not canned fruit with added corn syrup but fresh or at least frozen organic fruit. If you find it hard to let go of your cravings for sweets, try to at least limit your intake. You can indulge in a treat once in a while just go for the lowest calorie treat you enjoy and eat it with fruit, then go walk around the block.</p>
<p>No ice-cream. The trouble with ice-cream is it is in the freezer for you to eat. Every time you open the freezer it is there looking at you, what else is there to do but eat a bowl every night. That is what you don&#8217;t want to do. If you must eat ice cream buy the smallest and best you can find and eat it with fruit. The fruit will help fill you up.</p>
<p>My advice is to lose weight the healthy way. It still will not be easy but eating many fruits and vegetables will help you preserve your willpower and you will lose weight without starving yourself. At some point life gets easer, your new way of eating is normal to you and you are not trying to lose the weight, you are just doing weight control. Weight control is much easer because you do not need to lose it, you just need to keep it off.</p>

It is true, and this is the only way that you will ever successfully enjoy a healthy weight loss and keep this weight off.</p>
<p>Generally, we consume around 2,000 calories each day and experts suggest that this is what the average person requires. If by following a calories loss eating plan, you reduce your food intake and only eat 1,500 calories daily, your body needs to search for the energy required from the 500 calories you did not eat from another source. This source happens to be the fat your body is storing and that you want to shed!</p>
<p>A calories loss diet together with exercise is a certain way to lose weight. Losing as an example, 5 pounds, will require you to reduce you calories by 17,500 as there around 3,500 calories in each pound of fat. Even when they promise this and more without effort, the latest quick result diet, diet powder or diet pill can not provide the weight loss results you want in the long term.</p>
<p>Medication can not burn the extra calories that you can through what you eat and how you exercise. We know that fat burning does come through calories loss but losing weight is more than just watching your calorie intake. For all aspects of your body&#8217;s health you need to balance what you eat by making sure that your menu includes foods from each of the different food groups.</p>
<p>If you only eat a salad and drink diet sodas for calories, you still won&#8217;t lose weight because you are not giving your body what it needs to function. Your diet should not be something that you use to punish yourself or to punish your body. Your body needs food for fuel.</p>

<p>If you focus on the development of a healthy body you as you would be wise to do, you can use calorie counting as means of monitoring the path to your weight loss.  There will be no need to penalize yourself for carrying too much weight; instead you can respect your body and provide it with foods that will help it become stronger and healthier. <p>Breast cancer, heart disease, and diabetes are just three of the many health concerns attributed to too much belly fat.  It doesn&#8217;t matter if your abdominal fat is due to menopause, beer, or food, experts agree that it&#8217;s dangerous and needs to be eliminated!  This extra weight is not only unsightly from the exterior, but the damage that the deep fat does to your internal organs is alarming!  There are simple steps that you can take to solve this problem.  Let&#8217;s look at a few of the most important ones here.</p>
<p>There is no substitute for eating healthy foods in healthy amounts!  Make it a priority to learn about food pyramid recommendations, nutrition fact labels, and proper portion sizes.  Study this information, commit it to memory, and practice it on a daily basis.</p>
<p>Water should be your main source of hydration!  Skim milk and unsweetened tea are acceptable as well, but sweet drinks and drinks containing artificial sweeteners, should be saved for very special occasions.  Severely limit all sweet food choices.  They provide no nutritional value and slow weight loss.</p>
<p>It is impossible to downplay the significance of exercise in the fight against belly fat.  A minimum of thirty minutes of cardio should be competed each day, with activities such as power walking, running, biking, swimming laps, racquetball, skating, basketball, biking, jumping rope, and dancing.  In addition, weight training and target exercises should be included in the daily workout.</p>
<p>Medical researchers have determined that a fat belly is most likely to develop in a stressed man of any age, and an older stressed women.  Therefore, it is absolutely imperative that you take steps to eliminate excess stress in your life!  Cortisol is a hormone that the body releases when stressed.  It is believed that this hormone encourages the storage of fat around the abdominal area and belly.  Learn relaxation techniques, find your inner yogi, or go fishing&#8230;but do not stress!</p>
<p>By following these steps, belly fat can be eliminated or greatly reduced.  Patience is imperative as it takes several months for the body to show off the benefits of a new program.  There are other easy steps that can be taken to deal with this condition, but these are by far the most important ones.</p>
