Do you want to lose weight while having a great time? Maybe you should consider dancing for exercise. Dancing is a great way to lose weight while burning unwanted calories. There are many positive aspects of dancing and this article will list benefits of dance.

Flexibility is an important body issue, especially when you become older. Flexibility is increased when your muscles range of motion increases. Dancing is a great way to become flexible as your muscle will bend and twist naturally when performing rigorous dance routines.

Strength can be defined as the body’s ability to exert force against resistance. When you dance, you will increase your strength by forcing muscles to resist body weight (think plyometrics or jump training). Many genres of dance require the dancer to jump and launce their bodies off the ground. This will naturally increase the lean muscle mass in your legs, which will increase overall strength in your body.

Dancing is considered aerobic exercise. When dancing, your heart rate will increase above your resting heart rate. Since your heart rate is elevated when dancing, you increase the oxygen flow to your red blood cells, which will increase your bodies overall stamina.

Lastly, dancing is just plain fun! When you dance, you won’t know that you’re exercising because it will seem fun. Most people quit working out because they become bored of their workout routine. Also, if you join a dance class, you can meet more people, which will build your overall confidence.
