The HCG kit arrived yesterday. I got out all my products and checked them out. And we talked about the different products yesterday: the homeopathic HCG weight loss formula and the B-Total Sublingual. Today we’ll talk about the instruction manual that gives the HCG protocol for weight loss.
It starts off with a little bit of info about the HCG diet in general. It basically went over the basics outlining my (and probably your) negative relationship with food and the reasons for it (society, bad habits, convenience foods, etc). Then it went over how following the HCG protocol for weight loss changes that relationship. It discusses the HCG’s interactions with the body and how the lack of appropriate HCG levels in our bodies has created an obesity issue in a large portion of today’s society.
It also warns us all that the way the HCG causes weight loss will result in some days with no marked weight loss and others with drastic drops. This is because the HCG and the 500 calorie diet result in fat being burned for energy. Fat being burned for energy results in empty fat cells. Empty fat cells are often filled with water until the tissue is finally broken down and the water is liberated. (There will be frequent bathroom trips during the diet, apparently).
The next section in the booklet is filled with useful information. They called it the Helpful Hints & Products section. I’ll share a few of the “hints” that stuck with me. They mentioned that dieters should watch their salt intake; it increases water retention. They also mentioned lotions and moisturizers. You’re not allowed to use them on the HCG diet. They contain oils and fats that your skin will absorb and the whole point of the diet is that you’re not providing it with fat. They also mentioned buffalo as a very healthy alternative you can use to mix up your protein regime. And I have to admit that it does sound interesting. I’ll have to check out the cookbook and see if I can find a recipe for buffalo. I might just get tired of chicken and lean cuts of steak.
And THEN they started to get right down to it outlining the HCG protocol for weight loss. First I have to say that they did say absolutely no diet soda or Crystal Light. I’m disappointed, but I understand. It’s definitely not good for me, I’ve always known that. But they don’t allow it on the diet because of the type of sweetener it uses. You’re also not allowed gums or mints. We already discussed how lotions and moisturizers are outlawed. You also can’t include butter or oil or any sort of dressing that has any oil or fat in it with any of your foods. The rules for taking the drops are simple. You have to take them three times per day. Each time you take the designated amount and hold it under your tongue for 15 seconds before swallowing. You don’t eat or drink for 15 minutes before you take it. And you don’t eat or drink for 15 minutes after you take it.
I’ll have to save some of the other goodies for mention on another day, but I will say this…I’m liking this company. They’re straight forward and they don’t waste their breath. Well, I guess I should say they don’t waste their paper since I’m not talking to someone. I’m reading what they wrote. But you know what I mean.
