Have you been looking into weight loss diet pills? I’m sure youre concerned about potential side effects. Nobody wants to take hoodia or any other weight loss supplement without examining the ingredients and figuring out whether or not there could be side effects that may jeopardize their health or make them feel ill.
Hoodia gordonii is an appetite suppressant. If you want to understand hoodia side effects, you need to know how we become hungry in the first place. Our brain is notified when blood glucose (blood sugar) levels drop indicating that we need nourishment. The brain sends a message to the hypothalamus which then creates the feeling of hunger.
Hoodia gordonii is a cactus from South Africa that contains p57. This marvelous ingredient fools your brain into thinking that the glucose levels are optimum. Because of this, our appetites are suppressed even if our glucose levels are low.
This is fantastic for those of us who have been overeating for so long that our response system towards glucose is out of whack. Our bodies have become used to excess, so we feel hungry even though we don’t really need glucose. Diabetics on the other hand, rely on glucose control to manage their disease, so it isn’t advisable for diabetics to use hoodia gordonii as an appetite suppressant.
The second side effect of hoodia is that it may also suppress our sense of thirst. When we become thirsty, we are already partially dehydrated because our fluid levels must fall below optimum level before the sense of thirst is triggered. This side effect can be easily controlled, however, by getting into the habit of drinking plenty of water throughout the day. Staying well hydrated can help you lose weight as well, so this is something that you should be doing anyway for weight loss as well as your health.
The really fabulous news is … thats it! Those are the two main side effects of hoodia gordonii. All things considered, that’s not so bad.
Many weight loss diet pills and appetite suppressants other than hoodia gordonii have some pretty nasty side effects.
Ephedra is a stimulant appetite suppressant that has been linked with serious cardiovascular side effects that have lead to death. It was banned by the FDA, but unfortunately, some unscrupulous weight loss companies still manage to make it available online.
Fat blockers such as Alli have been known to cause excessive bowel movements and leakage issues for people who continue to eat high amounts of fat while taking Alli. Many people who take Alli have reported ill side effects such as cramping, bloating and pain.
Caffeine and other stimulants cause side effects such as jittery feelings, nervousness, increased anxiety and insomnia.
HoodiThin (the one I use) is 100% pure; however some hoodia gordonii supplements contain other ingredients that may cause side effects. Make sure you investigate all of the ingredients before buying a diet pill or weight loss supplement. It was extremely important to me that I chose a hoodia product that didn’t contain excessive ingredients.
Its not advisable for children to take hoodia (or any weight loss diet pill without the advisement of a physician). Do not take hoodia if you are diabetic, pregnant or nursing a baby.
If you want to lose weight with a safe appetite suppressant, hoodia gordonii is a great choice so long as you aren’t in one of the above situations.
