There is great controversy about how well weight loss patches work and while some individuals believe they have seen impressive results, others have experienced no weight loss at all. A weight loss patch claims to help in weight loss by either suppressing your appetite or helping you burn excess fat, attached to the skin it releases appetite suppressants and other chemicals into your body.

They are said to work along the same lines as the weight loss pills, although they are more effective because the chemical substances are introduced directly and bypass the stomach where valuable nutrients can often be dissolved making the pills ineffective. By using the slow release patches, chemical substances are used to lower food cravings, increase the metabolism, and blockers that help stop certain oils and fats being absorbed by the body, are able to work directly and much more quickly than using other methods.

The transferal delivery system used is safe and works based on the idea that some molecules are so small that it is possible for them to be easily absorbed through the skin and then directly into the bloodstream for the body to use. This allows a massive ninety five percent of the medication to be absorbed which is far higher than traditional methods of delivery.

If it were not for the size of the molecules this type of delivery system would not be possible whether it’s to be used in weight loss patches to any other form of medication. There are a number of chemicals found in weight loss patches. However they are all pretty much the same as those found in other weight loss systems.

The claims made for the effectiveness of these weight loss patches are still debatable and consumers should not believe everything they read or hear about them as other factors are involved. Of course, when somebody wears a weight loss patch there is a strong psychological urge to make it work and specialists agree that this is a facet that is difficult to assess.

While it has been known for people to place these patches almost anywhere on their skin, as with nicotine patches, the back or shoulders is the best position, although the area must be free of dirt and oil or it will not stick correctly and reduce the effectiveness. Wherever there is excess hair, you may want to remove excess hair first on a particular area before putting on the weight loss patch or to choose another area where there is less hair growth.

To ensure complete absorption of the chemical substances, the weight loss patch has contained within the surface, it needs to be adhered to the skin correctly without any gaps or raised areas. In case where weight loss patches get removed or wet, they can still be used although they are not guaranteed to work at the same rate as a newly-put weight loss patch would. It is never a good idea to rely solely on one item to help you lose those excess pounds, however it is better to use a mixture which should always include regular exercise as well as maintaining a healthy diet.
