Too many people today have excess weight. There are both genetic and environmental reasons for this problem. And the truth is, some of us are looking for ways to lose weight fast. And how can you do it? Here are three different, totally free, plans that can help you lose weight in just one week.

Over three-fourths of the human body is made up of water. As a result, we need to take on a lot of water to keep going. Millions of years of evolution have caused our bodies to retain water against future need. Most of us carry around 5 to 8 pounds of excess weight in the form of water. By just drinking more water, you can lose those extra pounds within a week. If you drink up to a gallon of water daily, your body will get the message that it doesn’t need to retain any water, and then the already stored water will be eliminated from your body.

The second one-week weight loss plan is to eat a diet composed entirely of fruits and vegetables. There aren’t many calories in green salads, even larger ones. You’ll get a lot more fiber, as well as bring down the amount of calories you take in. The fiber will help to cleanse the bowels by getting rid of much of the excess waste that is caused by eating foods that are bad for us.

The third plan involves elements of both of the previous two alternatives. Increasing water and vegetable intake can aid in rapid weight loss as outlined. But this time, you add moderate amounts of lean meat, fish, poultry, and whole grains, because the human body is designed for good protein and complex carbohydrates as well as fiber and water. For successful weight loss, our bodies need carbohydrates, which convert to fuel that the body burns, added to a reduced caloric intake.

Weight loss will be a bit slower with this plan, but it does take a more healthy and balanced approach to dieting. It also allows you to take in the nutrients your body needs while ensuring your calorie intake is lower than the amount of calories you burn every day.

If you use these balanced plans adequately, you can lose up to 20 pounds in a week. Assuming, of course, that you have that much excess weight to lose. As most of us do, this is a very realistic weight loss goal.
